I'll probably shoot production, I don't have a good SS rig.

Although once I get my RMR'ed G19 back, maybe I will get my ass handed to me in open for a few matches ;-)

Fun time tonight, thanks to the RO's for making things run smooth and getting people cycled through quickly.

Here's me sucking, but hey I got an entire season to get better. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Stage 1

I just hope nobody recorded me on Stage 1. I think every match should have Stage Zero to get warmed up.

I conducted a little experiment on stage 2 this evening: How fast can I physically pull the trigger, sorta look at my sights, and still hit paper?

My answer was something like 30 mikes and a priceless "what the hell just happened" look on Gundry's face. Worth it? Yes.

Just wait till scores come out Pat... I stood up after the first three targets

I bet you smoked me on that stage!

I don't want to step on Mike's toes but does anyone want to discuss the new format?

I like it seems fair to me.. I just know not to come super early as I don't like to shoot first.

I saw that, it really helped me remember the stage instructions. Thanks, buddy! :)

Go ahead and step (just don't stomp). The ROs had a meeting after everyone left to discuss the good and bad of the new format. I've had a call today from one of the ROs about it, too.

We need to hear from you!!! If it's not fun, we're doing something wrong, but if we don't see it, and you don't tell us, how can we fix it?

Input, please!

It felt kind of like traffic, it "feels" better to keep moving even if it takes a little longer?

Even though I got out fairly early, it felt like a long night.

Now I am talking about feelings and "feel" like a liberal

I'm not sure after one night whether I like it or not.

I was one of the later shooters so it did seem like a long night of waiting around. It was not very organized as far as who was doing what and when. I know it the first time but that has to improve. I personally hate disorganization and wasted time.

Some shooters who had a higher number then me shot before me. I waited to be called and I guess they didn't think they needed to follow the rules. Based on that, the shooter number on your score sheet should be checked before you are allowed into the range with your group of 10 shooters so that doesn't happen again. Plenty of time to check that.

By waiting outside the range I felt I missed out on a lot. When your in there you get to watch other people shoot the stage and it helps to plan how your going to shoot it. That was lost in the new format. Watching people shoot and helping paste targets makes the time go by faster. It's a good time to socialize. Standing and watching people shoot from outside the glass made time go very slow and for me was harder to socialize.

It was nice to get out earlier after shooting but not sure this is the best way to accomplish that just yet.

Would like to hear all the comments and that will help to fine tune it and make it better.

Forgot to add THANKS! to Mike and all the others that help out making this league possible.

Well you asked. I didn't like it one bit. I like the old way better. More people in the bay to help paste, RO, call out names and score. From what I saw at the end of the night, the ROs looked worn out. The social side of it for me is a good part if why I go, hang out and shoot the **** with people. I fell the way it was last night I didn't get to do that. I'm assuming this was tried, to try and make things go faster. I don't think there is a way to speed things up. No matter how you do it. There will still be the same amount of time spent on shooting for each person. If anything I think it went slower because of people not know stage description and having to ask questions before they made ready. The old way, the stage description gets read once per squad and if you don't catch it then to dang bad. Just my rambling thoughts. Still your show Mike and you get to run how you want.

With this format, there is no way for people who want to squad together to do so unless they coordinate all showing up at the same time. There was also a bit of miscommunication in terms of moving on. I saw some shooters immediately go to the next bay, only to be told after my round that I had to wait for the entire squad to finish.

If the incentive is to reward people who show up early and help set up, maybe look at the Oakdale model and offer a match fee discount? Even $2 is enough to motivate some people.
