Stop The Threat Show

Postby LarryP on Wed Oct 02, 2013 9:05 pm

Anyone watch a show on satellite called "Stop the threat"? They go over real self defense stories & say what was done right & wrong. Cops & trainers are on the panel giving their opinions. Good show

Have watched about a half dozen of the episodes. Pretty decent and enough info to know if it is an episode you would not be interested in.

I have never seen it and never knew it was on. I just set my DVR to record the series. Thank you for bringing the show to my attention. I can't figure out how I missed a show like this. I watch nearly all the shows related to guns and especially self defense

Thanks for sharing, LarryP.

Looks like the episodes are also on Youtube for those of us that don't have sat/cable.

Amazingly my wife likes it. She has no interest in carrying, situational awareness, self-defense. Says I'll take of that kind of stuff.

Oh, she often would use deadly force before I think it is justified in the scenarios presented.

For her, and women in general, the use of deadly force is often at a lower threshold than for men due to disparity of force. A woman is not expected to go toe to toe physically with a man as even today society sees them as being physically less capable. so, deadly force becomes an option sooner for them.

When others bring up the larger numbers of women in law enforcement and the size differential between them and suspects I remark that I would be worried if I were a miscreant. As some of these female officers are almost literally half my size, they could nearly shoot me out of hand if I did not comply with verbal commands. Being able to shortcut the force continum in some situations can be an advantage I would think. Especially if it were me being pounded on and a female officer came to back me up.

You don't know my wife. It is more like the scenario he took my purse, is running away, she wants to shoot the SOB and can't understand why that is not justified.

Last night I watched Naked and Afraid..... survival of the fittest ...... two strangers one male, one female never met and forced to spend 3 weeks in the jungle naked! They spent a lot of time complaining and doing very little. Oh and the guy complained about being cold ! The two episodes I saw... had door knobs for men and pretty crafty females.... and not bad looking either ..... build a shelter, secure water and catch some food..... not so complicated ..... the women all seems to be able to build a fire ..... it seems they had machete s ????? and should bag of ? something ... oh and the camera man .....

I've seen this show as well. So far everyone has been doing it wrong IMHO. Every contestant gets to take one item with them. If it was me I would take a Winnebago 8-)

Didn't know about it, but I do now. Wtahcing episodes on Youtube when I get a chance, and think they're worthwhile.
