Xcel Energy Center - Wild games

Ok who screwed it up for the rest of us?

It will be asked, I'm sure so here it is. Let's see if people can use the search engine

As of 10-10-13 the MN Wild are now wanding all patrons as they enter the gates.

it actually looks like all NHL venues are doing something. Some are installing walk through detectors, some are wanding. They're blaming the marathon bombing.

Oh Goody!! As soon as there is a Wild Game, I'm going to climb out from under my bridge, put on my XXXXXXL Glenda the Good Witch of the North Outfit, go down to the Excel Center, and get a new wand for free!! The one is have is a little tatty and most of the magic in it is used up, so this will be a real good deal for me!! OHHH GOODY GOODY GOODY!!!

Eat your heart out, Heffay...

I'm not sure I understood the last post.

Let them wand all they want. I'm not a fan of that game anyways.

We are going to the game tomorrow, I will see if the metal plate in my head sets it off...and they damn well better win the game!

We'll my keys and phone set the wand off so you should be good to go with a metal plate. BTW when the microwave is used do you forget who you are for half an hour? :)

And yes as good as it was to see the W last night they really should have dominated that game. Anything less then another win and I think some coaches maybe looking for new homes soon.

Im curious on how thorough they will actually be. Every time I go to a wild or concert I carry my gun IWB. Every time I have been searched no one finds it, one guy Im sure had to have felt it but didn't say a thing. Haven't been to impressed with the effort, seemed like most just did the motion in case the boss was watching but didn't care.

It is hit and miss based on which person you get. Some people wand and let everyone through. Some people pat you down in the areas where the wand buzzed.

Nobody wands ankles...just sayin.

Sometimes....But when I come around I always seem to remember that someone was going to give me some venison last year for all of the brass that I gave them. :P :rotf:

I've been a season ticket holder since 2003. I've never carried at the X, I've just never felt like I had to.

I was at the game on the 10th, and my car keys/belt buckle did not set off the wand.

That's what I was told last year during the playoffs when the Wild started to wand. All NHL venues are using some type of metal detectors now. I think I've been to 3 or 4 games since the new rule and each time I've been wanded and pat down when it buzzed. Like MN01R6 said, they've never checked my ankle area.

Got the half-assed wand job and then watched one of the best performances from the Wild that I have ever seen. ;)

Same here, quick wand but really an excellent game. You just have to like it when they score the first goal at about 12 seconds.

I wonder whether carrying something behind a belt buckle would get by. Just wondering.
