Here we go again. Another incident in a gun free zone. Imagine that. Buckle your seatbelts, the ride continues.

So far what I've gotten from the TV is, "We don't know much but it's our job to keep talking anyway."

News is reporting now that shooter was a former agent......wait for it.

So how could this happen in the uber-gun controlled state of Kalifornia, nonetheless in a airport in Kalifornia?

He must have used steel shot and under 7 rounds in a firearm that didn't have a detachable magazine.

Shooter used a Ruger Mini 14, stainless with black stock. CBS news just showed a photo of the shooting scene, and this rifle was laying on the floor. Great, just great. So much for this rifle being left off the ban list in the future, as it was in the last proposal/bill.

Now they are saying the shooter was NOT a TSA employee, was shot in the face, survived the shooting and was taken into custody. :?

A federal law enforcement official said that the gunman was a ticketed passenger entering the airport. Officials don’t believe the gunman has ever worked for TSA. Law enforcement sources had earlier told The Times the gunman was a TSA employee.

On a side note, I saw the colored tarps laying on the ground near several ambulances.
It turns out these are for triage sorting of victims.

Shooting At Los Angeles Airport — TSA Agent Reportedly Shot

Having had to go through lax many times o have no doubt that it could be a current or former tsa agent. I think having a neck tattoo is a requirement to get a job there, and the agents are clearly instructed to discuss what they do last night vs actually do their jobs.

Some were, but not all. Mine was specifically exempted by Dianne Feinstein.

The short snippit I saw on Yahoo news seemed to imply that the shooter was trying to commit suicide by cop. A TSA agent was killed, and at least one other wounded. The shooter was wounded and is in custody.

I wonder if this is going to be used to push that TSA agents have full LEO status?

They would have to restaff the entire officer population - they do not meet the standard for federal law enforcement officers in many MANY cases.
