Ever regret selling some guns?

Postby Tronster on Fri Nov 01, 2013 7:16 pm

So after years of gun buying I have some that are a favorite to shoot and take them out regularly. Such as the K31, the AR, the SIG, or my vintage shotguns. But there are some that I haven't even shot in years, either out of disinterest or were unreliable or just a pain to clean afterwards. Many of them share the same ammo, so I wouldn't save anything on ammo trying to eliminate a specific caliber. Have you ever sold a gun or multiple guns and you regretted it later, or was it better in the long run to thin the herd?

Never regreted a sale. Rem. 597 was about as reliable as a 17 year old pot-head. Stevens 311 sxs was cross-eyed. Ammo for the Tok went through the roof. The Daewoo needed new springs, and I had no idea where to get them. I've sold .22s cuz they take over the house like cats on some tv show about cat lovers. Gonna sell a couple kid-size guns cuz my kid is bigger now. Trying to sell a Beretta Silver Pigeon Combo that i just can't take out in the field cuz it's too pretty (it's over at Hoffy's).
I got nothin'

I've sold a ton of them and have regretted very few. I've got a few competition rifles and a couple others with sentimental value so I don't sell those, everything else is fair game.

I regret them all, depending on what I remember about them. If I remind myself why I sold them, then I don't.

Uncle Rip's rule #1, never sell a gun.

Having said that the only gun I've ever sold was a Universal M1 Carbine. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I hated that thing.
I will never apologize for being an American.

I sold a S&W Bodyguard .380 and did not regret it. Nice gun to carry (small) but a lousy gun to shoot.

No regrets when sold for more than owned it for.

SIG P240 in .32..... Regret selling my all original (including receiver) STG58 more, but that one I would not have been able to bring into the country anyways.

Really only one that I wish I had back. I buy guns cause I like them, and sell them when I find something I like more. :?
Some things I don't shoot, but I can't sell because it would be soooooo hard to find another one if I change my mind.
Remember, gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

I've traded a few, and wish I had some of them back. Especially the Marlin lever action rifles. Makes me irritated just thinking about those blunders.

I sold a few when my daughter was born to pay some bills. Hated doing that. Luckily things are better and Mrs. C. is a rockstar so I've been able to buy most of them or something similar back a bit at a time. Last on the list is a large revolver. This time it will be an SRH in .454 instead of a 686 but Mrs. C. gets a P238 or a Mustang first.
