Yeah, my first handgun, a .44 Model 29. If I had it today it would be worth three times what I paid for it.

Ditto on my Colt Series 80 Commander - worth twice what I paid for it.

I miss the guns more than what they are worth...but getting replacements is damned expensive!

The only gun I ever sold was a Finnish M39 that I bought on a whim and never shot it and lost $50 on the sale. But I don't miss it.

I have a habit of buying alot of inexpensive guns (impulse buys) that I don't shoot much and I really doubt they will go up in value. I've though of trading a bunch in on one really nice gun that I normally wouldn't have the money for otherwise, like a high end Sig pistol or an M1A rifle.

my uncle gave me a single shot 22 (think it was a stevens) and I used it as a part of a trade for a 30-06... would like that one back.

I think I regret not buying more guns when I spotted them at gunshows/stores for a decent price.

I've traded some I wish I still had. Especially the Colt 1911 and Daniel Defense AR. But, if I hadn't done the deals I would regret not having the Colt SP1 and might never have known how delightful is a Beaver-tailed Sig P229.

I've sold a couple and only regret one. That was my first handgun a West German marked 226. It went to a good home though.

I think when you sell or trade a gun that you seldom use for one that you will use more,, or in my case trading 2 guns plus a minor amount of cash for a Holy Grail Model 29 maybe takes the sting out of the transaction

About three years ago I decided to start shooting regularly after about a five or six year absence. I would go to the range maybe twice a year, but wasn't up on the latest guns or their values. Nor did I know that Gunbroker nor Armslist even existed. I had spent many years in depression because of my disabilities. It took nearly dying in a house fire to get me going again.

So, I had two 1980's vintage S&W 686's with 4" barrels. I bought mine, then bought my dad one, which became my second when he passed. I decided I wanted a Glock 17 so I did some online searching and found Gunbroker. I found a dealer in ND that would trade one of my 686's for a Brand New Glock 17 and I was tickled. Thought I had gotten a good deal.

After about a year of getting back into shooting I discovered how badly I had traded, even though I ended up with a Gen 3 RTF With Fish Gills (made it hurt less in ,y mind...lol). It got even worse after I decided to sell the second one, figuring I didn't care for all of the recoil associated with a "Magnum" never thinking I would get into reloading nor the fact I could have shot .38 Special loads in it. The second wasn't as bad a deal, as I did trade it for another S&W, a 642 plus I got some cash, and my wife ended up with a very nice carry gun.

I only wish I had another 686 with no dashes no dots, just a plain old 686. I do see one in my future gun purchases. If I could do it all over again, I would never trade them. I have made myself a rule, that should I decide to let one of my guns go, now or in the future, I have to wait one month before I list it for sale. This only applies to guns I have owned for more than four years as well :D

I also sold a Russian built AK-47 that was a Class 3 firearm. While I made a good profit, I truly wish I had it back. Same goes for a H&K 91 I sold, just before moving to MN. That one helped fund my move.

Sold several, only regretted one. When I moved to California I had to liquidate my 'evil' guns: AR, CETME, HK USC among others. When I returned I repurchased some of the items and found that I had remembered them more fondly than they actually were(or my tastes had changed). Really would like to get the USC back, but the price has gone up too much.

I've sold a number firearms over the years, but there are only a couple I miss. I see no need to keep firearms I don't use or don't like, I think it makes more sense to sell them and try something new.

I've also sold or traded in several varmint rifles that were still serviceable, but too shot out for long range prairie dogs. I think it's more cost effective to sell the old rifle and buy new one, than to have it re-barreled.

I might regret NOT buying a gun now. A very nice tiger striped K31 sold on GB last night, and I could have bid on it but it was already well over my personal limit. Tons of beat up K31's on there, but not many in that good condition with a tiger stock.

My dad gave me a Ruger Single Six .22 for my high school graduation gift. It was made in the 90's and came with the .22 mag cylinder. It was shot often and I got to be pretty good with it. I took it to Montana and shot some sod poodles on my Grandpa's ranch. It was also the first pistol I carried in public, in Montana at the local cafe. Everyone in the place was open carrying, except the cook and waitress. Montana is a great place. My Single Six also followed me on a spring break road trip to Yellowstone. It also snuck into my pack when we hiked into the Yellowstone back country. Wolves howling at night can be a little unnerving. It came with on a 3 day canoe trip down the Bigfork river. I caught fish with it at Little American Falls, fried Redhorse suckers aren't very good. Unfortunately I got hard up for money in college and sold it. I was young and dumb and didn't think about how much it would be missed. That Ruger had alot of miles and good memories. I have sold or traded quite a few guns in my time but this one still pains me the most. :|

I'm in the "should have bought category". I really want a ruger sp101 in .327 federal magnum. I find pleanty in .357&38, but have only seen one once in .327. It was at shooters supply in souptown. They wanted $450. Used, it was early this year. I walked away because I didn't have the time to mess with a transfer.. stupid...

Since then I have a list of guns I want, and when I find them, I don't hesitate. I check armslist 15 times a day, and I've Bern quick enough to get a few off my list at a good price. The most recent was a s&w 29-2 with original box, cleaning kit never used. I love that gun, she's so sexy..

At the moment I don't have the funds for quick buys so I've been avoiding gun shows..

I'm really on a 70's/80's S&W kick..

Someday i will be able to buy a Colt Python 6" nickel.. someday...
