Speaking purely on taking action on overcharging fees, personal vendettas aside.

There is no personal vendetta at all in the matter. I had nothing to do with either one of the above instances.

Meeker County's former practice of strip-searching and sometimes photographing private body parts of all newly arrested people as they were booked into jail will cost the Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust $1.75 million.

The Insurance Trust agreed to pay compensation and legal fees totaling that amount on behalf of Meeker County as part of a class-action settlement recently approved by U.S. District Court Judge Joan Erickson.

The last two sheriffs we have had are questionable at best.

I guess it means nothing either that the entire county board we voted out of office and not one incumbent was re-elected last go around.

Like Ramsey County is alone with their wonderful sheriff's like Bob Fletcher. I can only hope that Ramsey County is doing better with the new sheriff. Lord knows this one doesn't seem to be in the news like the last one.

Right now taking the class is really low on my list behind a concussion, whiplash, and the accident tweaked something in my lower back. Medical crap is going to be a priority on top of fighting with the other guys insurance.

Technically, by law, they're not allowed to charge more than actual costs - not to exceed $100 (or $75 for a renewal). Several counties charge less than that, and in some cases, far less.

The metro ones have yet to respond to requests for a detailed breakdown on how much it actually costs them to process a Carry Permit.

Hopefully they dont because judging by how slow the government works they might end up charging way more

Hence the "not to exceed" part.
