Springfield Armory Demo Day at Lakes Trading Co Forest Lake

If you have wanted a chance to shoot the line of Springfield Armory firearms, your chance is next weekend at Lakes Trading Co, AKA Lakes Training Center in Forest Lake. A factory rep from Springfield will be at our location with 25 different handguns giving you a chance to shoot the XDM, XD, XDS, 1911, and EMP. There is no range rental fee nor is there a fee for shooting the factory guns. According to Springfield the ammo for use in the guns must be purchased from the shop to verify that they are factory loads. We will be selling round in lots of 10 (9mm $3.50, 40sw $4.00, 45ACP $4.50 Includes tax). This will be a fun day of shooting a bunch of guns.

The Springfield shipment arrived and the guns available for testing are as follows:

XDM 3.8" barrel in 9mm, 40sw, 45 ACP
XDM 5.25" BBL competition model in 9mm
XDS in both 45 ACP and 9mm
XDM 4.25" BBL in 40SW
XD Sub Compact in 9mm and 45 ACP
XD Tactical in 45 ACP
1911 Loaded Stainless 5" 45 ACP
1911 TRP Operator 5" 45 ACP
1911 Light Weight Champion Operator 45 ACP
1911 Range Officer 45 ACP
EMP 9mm

We will also have the XDM 4.5" 9mm for the shooting competition. Details are on the website lakestradingco dot com.
Guns will be available for test firing from 10-5 on Saturday.

Sorry, missed the Comp part on the site. The basics are as follows:


Up for grabs is a Springfield XDm 4.5" BBL, 9mm.
Everyone will shoot the actual prize gun at 15 yards.
Entry fee is $10 per target including tax and rounds.
Each person gets 3 shots per target and the two closest to the bulls eye count for scoring.
The total combined distance from the center of the bulls eye to the two closest hits is your score.
The lowest score wins the gun.
There is no limit to the number of targets you can buy.
Contest dates are from 11/23/2013 through 11/30/2013.
Winner must be eligible to transfer the firearm. No third party transfers. If the winner cannot transfer the gun 2nd place will win the gun.

I hope this makes sense. We did this type of competition for a Sig 1911 and a Sig 522 for our grand opening last month and it was quite fun.

Thanks to everyone who came out to shoot the Springfield Armory pistols today. We will have the guns available to shoot tomorrow but regular range rental rates apply.
