Check your brass...

Postby Rodentman on Sat Nov 23, 2013 5:55 pm

I found these in a batch of fired brass I bought. Don't get too many rejects, but it's important to check. Wonder if these were 1x fired. No matter, when they're bad, they're trashed.

What brand of brass? I bought some WCC06 last fall from Wideners that I'm finding cracks in the necks on the second loading.

I'll take 'em if you bring them to a gathering sometime. Works for cutting down to 300blk. ;)

OK I'll save all the .223 brass with bad necks. So far just a few.

Any brass from an unknown source should be annealed.

With blowouts in the neck-shoulder area, chamber needs a good cleaning and a check for damage.

Have fun,
Be safe.
