Illinois PTC training requirements

Postby westhope on Sun Dec 15, 2013 9:39 am

Below is a link to the training required to apply for an Illinois Permit To Carry. (Actually it is what an instructor must cover to have their class certified.)

16 hours of in person training minimum.

They have allowed some credit for a DD214, or a UT permit, but for the majority it's gonna be the whole 16 hours. Plus electronic fingerprints, which are running about $60-100. Technically you don't need the prints, but then the great folks at the IL State police can add another 30 days to the time to issue the permit to make it 120 days instead of 90. Great times to live here in IL! At least as a state we are in fine shape financially though, and no real crime problems......

Here is a list of up to 8 hours of prior training which may be credited toward the 16 hours.

If only they would require this much hands on training for condom usage.

I understand you get a personal endoscopy all the way up the Hershey Highway by Obammy's No.1 bag man, none other than Hizzoner Rahm Emmanual during the permit application process...

At least you get to root for DA Bears!!!

Yeah, seems illogical to me, too. I mean, really, if there's a device that's much simpler to operate than a condom, I'm not sure what it is. Granted, some people still manage to screw it up somehow, but restricting access would be a BAD idea, unless you're for unwanted pregnancies and/or the spread of simple threaded devices. ;)

No those people can easily get them through straw purchases, or by stealing them. Even when they have them, who's to say they'll use them? It's just like trigger locks.

The television seems to be mastered pretty well. Discontinue Condoms vs Cable TV. sales in a city sometime and see which one starts a riot first.
