Tula Brass Maxx?

Tula Brass Maxx?

Anyone have experience with the 9mm 115gr Tula Brass Maxx? I'm more so wanting to know if it is a bi-metal bullet or lead so I can shoot it at BVP.

I thought bi-metal was okay it's steel core or penetrator that you can't shoot. That's what one of the range officers at bills in Hudson told me.

Hmm I guess all I really know is that if it sticks to a magnet they wont let you shoot it. I'm not sure how much non lead material is in the bi-metal products. I would check to see if it sticks to a magnet my self but apparently I don't keep any around my house.

Bimetal usually means a steel jacket with a copper wash coating to make it look pretty.

From what I could find it looks to be lead core and possibly made by Fiocchi from what I have read on other forums, but I haven't read anything confirming it 100%. Seems good to go and a pretty hot load compared to Federal AE which has a muzzle velocity of 1180 according to the federal website and the Tula Brass Maxx has a muzzle velocity of 1345 according to the Tula website.

Heh, I had the same thought. I'm guessing that was a typo and intended to be 1345 FPS, which is much more possible, albeit definitely on the hot side @ 155 power factor.
