I wonder if he'll even spend a day in jail seeing that the fines would be a joke to him.

A conviction will also result in a one-year driver’s license suspension by the California Department of Motor Vehicles

I don't like that they seem to forget little things like that for celebs while folks get the book.he better lose his liscense for a year or everything stinks.

The State of CA can't revoke or suspend his DL. It can issue him one for the sole purpose of immediately revoking/suspending it so that he cannot drive in CA. If he's able to update his Georgia DL and does so, then it would be valid throughout the US, excepting CA.

I heard them say on the radio that the arresting officer stated he was already being charged with driving with a suspended license because he was licensed in the state of Georgia.

I thought he lived in California? aren't people required to update their id after a bit? seems like another charge. how can you update an id without being a resident?

He does live in CA, as of today, because that's what he told the police, according to the report.

Each state has its own requirement of time spent living inside its borders before a person may claim residency and be eligible for residents' privileges, like applying for state licenses (I think it's 60 days in MN), but there's no law mandating that people claim residency in any particular state (other than for certain tax and business purposes).

Driving without a license is a crime and he was booked for it, according to the arrest report. Read it here.

It seems to be the case that he doesn't possess a CA DL. In fact he doesn't seem to be licensed by any state, his GA DL having expired last June. If he's convicted, and the particular NRVC situation between CA and FL requires that CA's head honcho of driving stuff be notified, and if CA law requires that his license be revoked/suspended if he's convicted of XYZ driving offense, then the state's only option is to issue him a license and immediately revoke/suspend it.

That sort of thing happens fairly regularly in WI to MN residents, for example Minnesotans attending college at Madison or maybe River Falls, who get into driving trouble there. WI can't revoke/suspend someone's MN DL, but it can issue a WI DL and suspend it, thereby prohibiting that person from driving in WI.

In other news, I'm ashamed that I give a crap about this story.

Send the little brat back to Canada.
Donald Trump got more fat women moving in one day than Michelle Obama did in eight years.
