I agree, this is not nor is any gun a perfect gun so you can throw all your other guns out. Every gun is a compromise of some sort for carry. I carry a diamondback DB9 or a DB380 a lot, this will replace them in my back pocket. What I like is the test's that I see say it works with most all ammo, but it does have trouble with flat nosed Winchester FMJ as most small guns do and you would not carry that ammo in your gun for self defense anyway. I think it is priced right and well its a Glock, so it will always have resale value. It will really be cool to see the single stack 9mm they are going to follow this with.

It's about 1/4 inch longer than a Walther PPS in either 9mm or .40 cal , otherwise same width and height. My PPS is accurate and reliable, and Walther Arms has good customer service. I can't see what would possibly draw me to this rather large .380 from Glock.

I have huge hands, I cannot put on a x large glove, I need XXL. I had one (42) in my hand and it fit perfectly. Maybe this will allow me to carry a Glock now, a Glock 26 is just to hard to hide comfortably with just a shirt on I do not know.

Picked up my glock 42 today from frontiersman. I ordered it 2 weeks ago. Marv called me at noon today and said my gun had arrived. I asked if he had even seen it yet. Said he was waiting for me. I went over and we examined it together. Wonderful little firearm. To give you an idea of my hand size, I can get 3 fingers on the grip. My EDC has been a beretta 85 for 20 years. The glock is smaller and lighter, but not what I would call a mouse gun like the lcp. Unfortunately, I have to wait until Thursday to send a few hundred down range.
Edit: paid $429, the actual MSRP. Thanks Marv!!

I just got put two boxes of .380 through my Glock 42. I box of Mag Tech and 1 box of Remington. No malfunctions, I just oiled it up a little with rem oil to make sure there was no metal on metal. It felt just like a Glock, recoil felt straight back and was able to get right back on. I have big hands but did not think this was a big gun and would be easy for me to conceal. I like the weight and balance of it.

My wife just ran a box of Winchester through it also just now. No malfunctions

Glock 42 ,most all of my Diamond back DB9 holsters work with this gun. Also the S&W shield holster I had in stock worked. Putting this into a pocket holster and then into my front pocket was very do-able. When inside the pants with a UDC holsters the gun practically disappears. The fact that this gun is not as small as a LCP or similar may not attract people who think that is a good gun to carry. For those who have seen maybe a hundred or so of those super small guns, type (2) malfunction jam because you can hang onto them like me I would not carry one! This is a welcome addition to the gun club. Last night I let a student shoot both the DB9 and the Glock 42. She said clearly I would rather shoot the 42. The DBP9 jumped at least 2-3" higher. This is the market that I think Glock is going after. They are going to make a single stack version of this in 9mm. As I see it they will be Identical size I bet other than the grip will need to accommodate the 9mm similar to the DB9 and the DB380. But the 42 is already large enough to adapt to the 9mm with out much increase in size. I personally believe in shot placement more than size of caliber, I have enclosed a link to a study done about caliber verses stopping power ect.

Anyone else shot their 42 yet? I have over 350 rounds through mine and it has yet to malfunction. I loaded 400 for tomorrow. I also have shot the long slide 41 it also performs well. I might use it to replace my 21 and sell it.

May I ask where you found the 41 and it's price? I'm considering getting one to shoot leagues with.
Thanks

If you can wait, in a month there will be 42 and 41's in numbers. Right now every one is gouging and I just think that is terrible. During the AR shortage, I had 5 in stock and people were offering me ridicules prices. I said they were not for sale, if I sold them cheap they would turn and gouge someone. If I sold them for what they were going for I would have to look at the guy after the prices crash. I saw it as a no win deal. There is no shortage of both the new Glock's as I understand, just a distribution issue as they wanted to let the cat out of the bag at the shot show and so could not ship prior. Even the other Glock's are catching up I just a call that my (19) G19's I ordered a few months ago are here.

I haven't really posted too much on my G 42 yet. I got mine from Marv on the 21st. Paid $429. Came with 2, 6 round mags.
Went to the range 3 times in the first week, running 700 trouble free rounds through it already. Tried using my normal SD rounds (Barnes xtp-sd), but it wouldn't eject the case. I have up after 4 consecutive failures. It ran the JHP Cor-bons just fine. This is an incredibly soft shooting, accurate little gun. The trigger is a clean break and its an impressive, short, positive reset (I have had very little experience with Glocks in the past). This gun is just small enough to conceal well, but large enough for excellent performance. I can get a good hold on it and its a joy to use. Around 13 ounces empty. This is no mouse gun. My EDC for the last 20 years has been a Beretta 85. Other than aesthetics, the glock out performs it.

I ordered a custom hybrid IWB from multi holsters. I'm anxiously waiting for an after market extended magazine. Even an extra round or two will be worth it.

The Glock 42 is an excellent BUG. For those that want a summer carry or a small, easily concealable firearm, this may be the answer.

I too have heard that Glock has pre made tons of these weapons. They will be appearing everywhere, shortly. There will be no shortage of accessories, either.

I was in on Wed and he had none. Said they ran about $629. I think I'll wait a while to see what their pricing does as they become more available. Thanks

There's no way around it: it may be "legal", but there's no question that that is price gouging. I've heard enough already about gun stop (I'm new to Minnesota), none of it good, but your post is reinforcement that I will NEVER set foot in there. Ownership should be ashamed of themselves.
