The scary thing to me, even if they look like cops in the first fraction of a second...say they bought some uniforms off the internet.

If I let my guard down and they aren't, my family and I are in trouble.

If I don't let my guard down, I am possibly dead.

I've never done anything that would cause a no knock warrant. Knowing that, Anyone kicking in my door is probably a bad person. A clerical error putting real cops at my door to kick it in will mean someone, very possibly me, is dead or hurt. It seems to me this is a bad trend.

This guy was a meth dealer, as confirmed by an undercover drug buy.

This was a legitimate high risk warrant and I think the tactics were appropriate under the circumstances.

Now let's talk about outfitting every member of these teams with gopro cameras on their military battle helmets so we can see what the "incident" was that led to this guy being shot.

Meth dealers don't buy food, gasoline, or go outside for any reason?
Cameras would be a good start, if they are not currently utilized.

Still a meth dealer in Wisconsin at 10:00am. Not a Taliban hideout in Mogadishu.

Tman, I respect your posts and most of the time I am with you but this sucks.... I have never...I repeat never done anything that would cause law enforcement to target me, however my son and some of his friends have not been so cool. If he is at my home and I have no idea what is going down in the middle of the night or early morning and my door blows off its hinges, by god I am going to fight, pick the little son of a bitch up when he is getting gas or going to the movie..... this **** is wrong and we need to stop it, YOU need to stop it, think before doing has always been a good idea and it is time more of you folks start doing the thinking...flame off FYI he is not here often..the people he hangs out with are at the bottom of my list of people I want around, I can pick my friends but not my family.

Until it happens to a truly innocent politician or a very wealthy & connected person, nothing will change.

Once it happens to an innocent member of the "upper echelon", the overall view of the logistics of these type of invasions will change.

But not until then. Buy a scanner so you at least have a 50/50 chance of hearing them on the way.

NOW we're getting somewhere! I fully support cameras on cops to clear any and all suspicion of wrong doing. Their presence should help prevent it as well.

Then he should have been arrested right then and there.

Problem solved, but then the police couldn't justify all their new fancy military gear.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Oh jeez you guys. SWAT teams were created before the military started giving away MRAPs. I disagree with using swat for pot busts and I disagree with the war on drugs, but the politicians we voted into office are the ones that passed the laws these guys have to enforce. "Our" politicians started that war.

Where will we find a truly innocent politician? ;)

Once it happens to an innocent member of the "upper echelon", the overall view of the logistics of these type of invasions will change.

Won't happen. We get less respect.

Sit around listening to a scanner on the off chance your address comes over the radio? Really? Why not just hide in a bunker outside your home watching a video feed of the home you can't enjoy?

Officers shoot and kill man in his home during raid

Postby jshuberg on Fri Feb 14, 2014 7:58 pm

To those of you who say that you have never done anything that would justify a no-knock warrant, there's something you need to know. Currently if you are known or suspected to be a firearm owner, and for some reason a warrant has been issued for you, it will be executed as a no-knock warrant.

The fact that the suspect is known to own a firearm is sufficient justification for a no-knock warrant to be issued. It's a situation where exercising a constitutionally protected right can be used against you by law enforcement to escalate the use of force and violence against you.

I'm a very pro LEO kind of guy, but I have to call out a wrong or an abuse when I see one, and this is an abuse. There's a time and a place for this tactic, but it's being abused, and the police are putting both themselves and the public at increased risk.

Install security camera's?

I ask ALL, ALL who keep a gun close by for home protection, ALL Instructors for Concealed Carry/Open Carry, ALL who intend to defend their home and family from Home Invasions, HOW ARE WE TO KNOW THAT THE POLICE ARE COMING THROUGH THE DOOR? Or that it is the drug crazed idiot just release from rehab needing cash for a fix? Or a rapist after your Wife or Daughter?

There has to be a better way.

And although I respect T-man, he has just lost some of it !!!

I'm not expecting to change any minds.

I'd like to point out that all y'all are putting yourselves - with your sensibilities - in the place of these warrant subjects. Don't bother.

They think nothing like you.
