Yah so we're supposed to believe the recipe for starting over is : No license, stolen car, stolen gas, hit and run, driving erratically, car chase, and fighting with cops?? Sounds like they were really cleaning up their lives! Well I guess if there is reincarnation they can now start their lives over. Sad situation, they could have made some better choices.

I will say this for those to: If they in fact made it from Colorado to MN in a stolen car, stealing gasoline along the way- they were obviously quite resourceful…. but showing no sign of possessing the judgement that would have got them straightened out with the world.
I got to believe one could walk into any cop shop in the country, announce they were wanted in MN, and shortly thereafter, get a free ride back to face justice.

This whole mess doesn't smell right. ALL those cops and then end up shooting them like swiss cheese. Then no answers or replies from the cops.
There's no reason in the world they had to kill them like that. Not with all those cops there. Not when they only had a knife
This was outright murder in my book.

Sorry but what else can you reply

With all the cops there maybe only one or two of them would have died trying to subdue them

ALL those cops & they couldn't take them down without getting hurt? Yeah right. Could of wounded them in that situation. Half the police in Mn were there

I certainly won't say it was anything close to murder. Confronting potentially deadly force with deadly force is what LEOs are trained and paid for. However, with just a knife, is the art of kneecapping dead?

Oh, and

There never is in officer involved shootings until any investigation is complete, they don't like feeding the rumor mill anything in these kind of cases.

Yeah, I'm sure with adrenalin flowing you can shoot to wound and be very accurate with those shots. Take any shooting classes lately or read up on the fallacy of shooting to wound and what the likely hood is of actually stopping someone that is just wounded? Me, I'm going with the law and training on this one, shoot until they are no longer a threat to my life.

I would have to say that if a person is deranged enough not to drop a knife when many armed LEO's are telling you to that it would be crazy on the LEO's part to want to get anywhere within reaching distance for this guy. Maybe the LEO's need to use a ice fishing spear and attach their tazer leads to it to get thru the winter clothing.

Yeah, they could have:
Not stole a car,
not ran after hitting another vehicle
stopped when the police pursued them
surrendered when the police stopped them
not picked up a knife
dropped knife when the police pointed guns at him/ her.

Would have ended much differently at any point.

FWIW, They also stole some different license plates and put them on this car.
Speed is Fine, Accuracy is final....but accurate hits at extremely high speed is final much faster.

Obviously you have zero training in self defense. Shots to "Center Mass" are where you train to shoot. Add in adrenaline, two dirtbags Crazy Enough to grab a knife knowing and seeing guns being pointed at you, and the LEO's giving commands that aren't even close to being followed, and we have two dead Dirtbags! When people are acting that irrational, no one in their right mind would get close to them. You might be brave enough, but I challenge you to chase a crazed driver, who jumps out of a wrecked car, pulls a knife, see's many guns pointed at him, then fails to drop the knife when ordered, and then you walk up and attempt to disarm them!

Maybe instead of shooting them, the LEO's should have simply run them over with their cruiser! I'm a long way from agreeing with some of the strong arm tactics the police use, such as "No Knock Warrants" , but these two left them no alternative. In my book, it's two less dirtbags we have to pay for their legal defense (which they had none), room and board for how many years so they could sit on their butts in jail, and receive free medical services.

Two less criminals. That's a good thing.
