The news of Morgan's departure was first reported by The New York Times media columnist David Carr. He wrote that Morgan and CNN president Jeffrey Zucker "had been talking about the show's failure to connect and had decided to pull the plug, probably in March."

Failure to connect? Yup. He only connected with the whack-jobs...

Morgan, a veteran of British tabloid newspapers...

Explains a lot...

"It's been a painful period and lately we have taken a bath in the ratings," Morgan told the New York Times on Sunday.

In his interview with the Times, Morgan said he thought the audience may have grown weary of his focus on gun control -- a major topic of conversation on the show in the wake of several mass shootings in the United States.
"Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing," he said. "There is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it."

So he's not stupid, just blindly liberal.

his uber -liberal show couldn't pull any ratings .. he was pulled for ratings ... terrible ratings means no ad money ..
...... money still drives most of the liberal media.... the media needs $$.... its still all about the money
keep your tvs off CNN and Bloomberg and MSNBC et. al. ...... advertising revenue is based on ratings plan and simple..... cable and satellite systems report what you view ... its better than the old sampling method.... they know within hours what you are watching ......
I have blocked those liberal news channels plus others ... keep my tvs on nick, and history channel as defaults

Piers Morgan is a blowhard. Maybe Fox News will pick him up as they did with Juan Williams, another jerk. I don't like listening to his drivel either.

I know a lot of people who think that Piers Morgan is intelligent. These are the people who falsely associate a British accent with intelligence and a southern accent with ignorance.

Just know that Piers isn't gone from CNN. Sounds like they are going to use him on larger interviews and features. So while his regular trash show is gone, we will more than likely still see him in some larger scope show. Maybe he'll do a show on investigating gun owners! ooooooo
