Just when you thought small towns were safe.... Friday 2/21/14 at about 9:26 PM two women here in Jordan were robbed at gun point while shoveling snow.
Exactly why I carry even at home in the yard and or in my garage.

I agree. Who carries that much cash shoveling snow? Either they're lying, or criminals themselves would be my guess.

Many work for cash or cash their checks soon after being issued and do not have bank accounts so often have a fair bit of cash on them. $600 sounds like a week's work at a fast food establishment for two people or two weeks pay for one. This distrust of banks is common for many recent immigrants which is a factor in their frequent targeting for such crimes.
