Shot and Killed for his cellphone

"It was a crime both "tragic and senseless," say prosecutors. David Peterson, 54, was out for a walk
in his Seattle neighborhood on Feb. 23 when police say high school student Byron White tried to steal
his cellphone, the Seattle Times reports.

Peterson fought off the teen and called police, but informed the 911 operator that his assailant had
doubled back, apparently after hearing Peterson place the call, per an affidavit.

That's when White, 17, allegedly shot Peterson in the chest; police arrived minutes later to find
Peterson dead in a pet shop parking lot, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

The teen later told friends "the man had seen his face, and he had to shoot him," ..."

My guess is that Seattle is EVEN MORE IMPOTENT at responding to this type of Child Murderer than we are....at least he's charged as an adult.

Put him in a Penal Colony for 40 years and let him out when he has arthritis.

I am familiar with this story. Kid mom turned him in. The kid strong armed him in a parking lot. The man won a brief struggle, then pulled out his phone to dial 911. He lectured the kid as he walked away. The kid turned around and shot him once in the chest while the man was talking to the 911 operator.

Sooooooooooooo......

From a 'Monday Morning Quarterback' perspective....the dead guy would have been justified in shooting the kid in the back as he walked away because the assault was still 'ongoing'

Or not?
