Look at global warming which has been shot down repeatedly. Yet they still believe in it and chastise and humiliate those who dare disagree.

I don't think the Mayo Clinic will touch it.

Are you kidding me? Mayo will gobble that money up faster than.... well you get the idea.

Rip, I would think that they would be more concerned with the potential damage this would do to their perceived reputation. Two million dollars to them is peanuts.

Mayo sold its reputation along with it's integrity long ago to get in line for "free" government handouts.

A puzzling statement. Mayo is still widely recognized as one of the top medical systems in the world. If anything, that reputation, among the public and among medical professionals, has enhanced over the last 5 years or so and business has never been better. You might be getting Mayo confused with the University of Minnesota.

I don't think we need a drug like this to be studied we already have plenty of non addictive painkillers and sphycotics anyone can get from our doctors and as long as we keep pumping our kids with adderal hopefully that will give them the focus they need to stay off the dirty pot that grows from the ground. How can you seriously give 2.2 million dollars to study a plant that hasn't had any real proof of even working other than helping you snack

The only thing that they do better than any other medical system in the area is marketing. That is why I think they will approach this cautiously.

There is, its called CBD. A number of places in Cali developed strains without "high" whatsoever.

Somebody recommended I try it for "pain" control.

I HAVE NO INTEREST IN TRYING IT.

There are enough other drugs out there with better control mechanisms.

Plus I don't smoke.

I'm wholeheartedly in support of full, recreational legalization.

I don't use it, but I don't see the problem with it.

That is the intended end result. A lot of the potheads are too dishonest to admit. They would rather demonize those who do not share their opinion by parading some poor pathetic soul who they have convinced that pot is their only hope for their illness, be it real or imagined.

I find it ironic that some supporters of pot legalization on the basis personal freedoms are the same who want to limit Second Amendment freedoms.

Same could be said for the alcohol in cough syrup. Humans just like the buzz. If you're sick of being sick, why the heck not get a little feels-good?

Yeah, those who are actually consistent in their stance on individual rights are fairly rare, at least as a percentage of the population.
