gunsmith that knows ak/saiga 12?

Postby 7808 on Fri Apr 11, 2014 1:54 am

Looking to get some work done on the hammer of my saiga 12, I converted it but apparently the tapco g2 hammer needs some material removed to work reliably, my fcg was purchased as modified for saiga from Carolina shooter supply, but ive had constant FTEs after the conversion and reading saiga forums leads me to this, I don't have blocked gas ports etc..

Anyone know a local that can fix up my hammer ?

Did you get the tapco single hook S12 trigger at the same time? The regular AK one's hooks are too long and can't be modified short enough without welding.

I purchased the whole tapco g2 fcg http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/p ... t1-3pc.htm

Thanks for the link to Schreyer? I actually ran into that guy at the range when testing my not yet converted s12 I emailed him yesterday

If your hammer needs to be re profiled you don't really need a smith. A belt sander or file with some polishing afterwords should fix you up. If it's hanging up on that FCG my guess is that your gun IS slightly under gassed. You have a few options. PM me if you want to chat.. I went through this with my gun and would be more than willing to talk you through options.

took the gun to the range and shot target loads before converting, think I had a few FTEs but after the conversion it was pretty much every shot spent shell had to be pulled out

Jordan will be able to get it sorted.

My tapco set didn't need anything, but it was already corrected by tromix.
