Crocodile productions shows - worth going?

Postby gun_fan111 on Mon Apr 28, 2014 2:00 pm

I've had luck at these. Good company makes it worth $5 entertainment even if you leave empty handed :)
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

Never bought anything at a gun show except $10 PMAGs from ThunderJohn before the madness and hoarding.

It is worthwhile to go to one every 5 years or so...just to remind yourself why you shouldn't go more often.

Back before the inter webs and global warming, in the days of "Shotgun News" and "Gun List", I arranged to meet up with an outstate FFL who had a shotgun I was looking for, otherwise, I don't think I've purchased anything other than perhaps popcorn.

Some enjoy themselves (and apparently spend money) at gun shows, but I am not among them, and the croc shows seem to be quintessential of all I find wrong with the venue.

Like the state fair, if I go once every 5 years, I usually ask myself why.

I've found some deals at the MWCA shows, and I like the vibe and vendor's at the AC Expo's shows (they allow lawful carry too!).

The croc shows always disappoint. I even went to a couple of them last year just to observe how the usual gougers responded to the crazy - some didn't need to raise their prices.

I went to one in Bloomington and it was shoulder to shoulder in there. I was disappernted and don't plan to attend another one. They were probably equally disappernted that I was there so BFD.

You just went about it wrong, ya beady eyed rodent!! If you had just gone in there wearing your rhinestone jock strap so they could have seen ALL your tattoos (and God only knows how many you have...), there would have been plenty of room for you!!! In addition, the 2XL tranny that looks a little like my female twin sister probably would have wanted to have you sit in her lap!!!

And I don't owe ANYBODY a clean shirt for this post!!

Going to any gun show is better than watching out the window the rain or snow come down.

I dunno - the rain and snow is free, while at a Crocodile shows you have to pay $5 for the same boredom, plus endure the insult of $50 bricks of 22 ammo, BO, and weirdos like me and Rodentman. Better off to go to Sam's Club liquor store and get a 1.75 of Maker's Mark for about $40.

BTW, I'm in St. Lucia as I write this - left Minnezotah March 10th and haven't slept on land since then....

I think I'd rather sit in the rain in cold wet BDU's again (pretty much my whole BCT was achieved in this condition) than go to another croc show for the same duration of time. I'd even save $5!

My wearing a rhinestone jockstrap is a capital offense. No trial, no judge nor jury. Straight to the gallows.

I guess I don't understand. Why is it Crocodile's fault that the dealers are over priced on their products? Gun clubs like Faribault, Wells, Fairmont that have gun shows and probably many others have the same over priced dealers, yet people blame Crocodile, why?

I don't think Crocodile shows are really any worse per sé. In my experience they seem to have the same dealers selling the same overpriced crap as any of the other shows, only on a smaller scale. So I guess maybe that's actually a good thing.
