Local kydex holster makers?

Postby Randygmn on Thu May 08, 2014 1:58 pm

Looking to find a local holster maker. I need a one off hybrid, IWB kydex holster for a Beretta 85FS. Needs to be local so I can bring the gun with me and hopefully have the holster made the same day.

Any suggestions?

This guy is local, seen him at gun shows. However all the holsters on his website seem to be leather. (maybe he does kydex by request?)

But.....If not I'll bet he knows every holster maker in the state / area and what they're good at.

There has been at least one group project on this board( I wasn't involved) nothing too high tech about cutting a slab of leather and heat molding some plastic around your pistol, and riveting/ bolting it all together. Been planing to try a machete sheath in similar fashion. Let 'imitation is a form of flattery' be your guide

I'm in St Louis Park and make kydex holsters, but I don't have any leather to make a hybrid. I can highly recommend Old Faithful holsters ( http://oldfaithfulholsters.com/shop/pre ... tral-cant/ ) for a complete "kit". If you'd like, we can press the kydex ourselves, and just use their leather backing. I'm up for it if your are!

Source for Kydex, I used some for a custom knife sheath a few years ago. Was easy to work with. http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-u ... word=kydex

Unfortunately, I'm back in NYC and have to stay longer than anticipated. Will be here for a few more weeks.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll be in touch with Doc before I come back to arrange a build. There are a few custom features I want to include and am anxious to see if it is possible.

Thanks
Randy
