Bodyguard 380 Trigger

Postby MnWise on Wed May 21, 2014 6:45 pm

Evening Folks -

Just returned from having a new trigger installed in my Bodyguard 380. IMHO, anyone who has shot this gun knows about the LONG and HEAVY trigger pull. My wife could never pull the trigger all the way back. In one of Hickock45's latest videos, he mentioned Galloway Precision's trigger upgrade for the BG380. That was enough for me to plop down some money and see if I could make the trigger an better pull. I didn't have time to shoot today, but I'll fire some rounds down range over the weekend and see if my investment paid off...

By order of the management, I have been asked to tone it down a bit, so I will. The OP sounds EXACTLY like an ad for the trigger mentioned, and note that while its advantages are touted, there is no review of its ACTUAL performance saying that the product actually performs as claimed. If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck.......

Wife can't use a gun because it's too big/too heavy/has too much recoil I have heard, but flat out can't use the gun because the trigger pull is THAT EFFEN heavy??? Why did you waste your money on a piece of junk like that, and then spend MORE money to fix a gun that wasn't usable right out of the chute??

^^^^THIS^^^^ Why the Hell would anyone buy any gun that they were IMMEDIATELY going to "fix" or "upgrade"??? Why not buy a gun that FITS and WORKS as you like it OUT OF THE BOX in the first place? I've passed on several different brands of new handguns because they just didn't fit, work, or feel right in my hand. And trigger pull is probably the BIGGEST thing that influences my buying decisions.

Yeah. God forbid anyone tries to improve a firearm. Maybe he got a good deal on it and decided to put a nicer trigger in it so his wife could also shoot it?

OP don't listen to these jackwagons and let us know how you like it!

I just don't understand this line of thinking. How many firearms are purchased each year for a spouse, do you suppose? For me, I'd let my wife choose her own, but that's probably a very, very, very low percentage of transactions. What if the husband has lots of handgun experience and wasn't put off by the trigger pull, but his petite wife was? Or that the husband may be a noob himself and didn't know any better and bought what the LGS guy recommended? The bodyguard pictured above has the laser. The newly released BG's no longer have that. I'm guessing he's had that pistol for a while and after watching hickock45's latest video, learned there was a solution. Why would anyone slam someone for trying to pass along some newly learned info? Instead of going out of your way to alienate people, perhaps being quiet will serve the entire community much better

Message toned all the way down. Just waiting for an ACTUAL review of the product. Hopefully from a 3rd party source.
