Glock G20 Gen4

I went to my deal to get my G20C out of layaway tonight, and ended up leaving with a G20 gen4 instead. It was really a no brainer. The grip fit my hand better, got 3 15 rounds magazines (plus the one I bought for a total of 4), and it was less money. I'm happy with it!





I did happen to notice I got the devil's Glock... Serial #***666 Test fired 3-29-2014.

Nice gun. I have a Glock 26. Glock calls it a carry gun but it is a nice gun to take to the range. That might be a nice gun to carry while hiking. I carry a .357 but the 20 might be a better choice.

Ordered some Underwood 150gr JHP ammo for it. 54.78 for 50 rounds shipped... OUCH!

Also learned that Hornady is offering the critical duty in 10mm. Cabela's exclusive. Ordered a box of them as well.

Go to Oldman and learn to handload on a single stage press. Once you shoot this you'll want to shoot it a LOT more, and you'll go broke trying to feed your habit. BTW - the only ammo worth shooting is the 180 and 200 grain stuff. The 135 and 155 is a bad tradeoff for more speed with less retained energy downrange, and the comparison is apples to lemons....

Also, save that brass. Even if you do not reload now, you will in the near future if you continue shooting 10mm.

I really like the 10. I am lucky enough to have a few of them, including a 610 and 310NG. The 310 is great, easy to carry and handle. I never bought any factory ammo so I can't comment on that. It's easy as pie to reload, I never had any issues. I keep saying I'm gonna get the 610 punched out to 10mm mag and that's still on the bucket list.

Gen 2 G20 owner here. Grips are clubby. Factory recoil spring had to beefed up to digest 175 HLTC WITH 10.0 grains 800-X. Mimics rather high energy muzzle blast with two illuminated fire rings 8 and 16" out. Gas velocity must be supersonic. Recoil not for the limp wristed. 6% of the Underwood brass I pick up is nearly ruined by high pressure. It does size back on the Lee Bulge Buster, tho.

That's the thing about Underwood: Small company loading stuff hotter that the original Norma factory load, and some calibers that are pretty sketchy around the edges. I wouldn't touch their stuff with a 10 foot pole, and I reload 10mm all the way up to the Norma spec. If 6% of the brass is damaged by high pressure from factory loads so that it can't be used, that's a BIG, BIG warning sign. Only question is when will your gun let go or prematurely come out of battery with the pressure still up, and how bad a case of brass acne you will wind up with.
