Broke my RCBS .223 decaping die

Pretty PO'ed at myself not only did I brake the decapping pin I also bent the decapping rod. I will call them tomarrow and see how much it will cost me to fix my die.

Don't get too mad. Their customer service is very understanding. They have always taken good care of me.

While I agree about the warranty. They should not have to pay up because I screwed up.

As you all have said they are shipping the parts right out to me. Kind of hard to believe they would just send them out when it happened with no fault of theirs.

All right, fess up!! Was it a Berdan primed case that got through your brass sorting before depriming step???

Um, I've done it TWICE and they replaced it twice free of charge.

When I broke a rod and snapped a pin on a piece of gravel in a .223 case they sent me a rod and 5 spare pins to keep on hand. If I'm lucky I'll be able to find them when I need them.

Sorry Sam it was on a piece of Lake city brass. Was not that Berdan junk.

But it did happen to me many years ago, one piece of brass I missed and ended up with one broke pin.

Sadly no. As much as I would like it to when you pay more for their product in the first place you are buying the replacement parts before you ever need them.

I was told by a fellow shooter that the RCBS decapping rod bearing the sizing button atvthe distal end, actually distorts the neck and destroys accuracy. I tend to agree, as the case is not firmly up inside the die as the decapping pin is so short . He mentioned COAX type dies , butvi think he meant Forster brand. Is he right?
