Best 9mm ammo to stash?

Postby Garret7857 on Fri Jun 06, 2014 1:06 pm

Hey guys n gals,

I recently got a Glock 19 and decided it would be nice to store some ammo in case of an emergency (don't worry I'm not planning on hoarding thousands of rounds  ) but I'm wondering if there's some good brands out there that I should be made aware of that's decently priced but it's still decent ammo. I'm thinking of maybe wanting my final stash to be 1,000 rounds of hollow points.

I was thinking HyrdaShok as well but I think it's like $30 for 20 at Gander... might have to save my pennies and just buy a bulk box like that instead.

You can find it at police supply and ammo supply places for as little as $24/box of 50.

Don't shop Gander Mtn for bulk pricing.

Gold dot 124 is another good one and same price range. B is right. Goose Hill does no favors on ammo pricing.

You can try streichers locally, but it would probably be better and cheaper for you to save up at least $125 to buy 250 rounds at $0.50 a round and get it online.

Also, hydrashok is like 1970s technology. You want federal HST or gold dots.

I actually meant to post the link to HST. That's what I get for trying to use my phone to browse the web.

I think sportsmans guide usually has good deals on ammo. Most big name ammo manufacturing is pretty decent stuff.

G2 RIP ammo would be my recommendation. That stuff literally costs half the price of silver.
Might be made of leprechaun blood, unicorn tears and hooker spit... :?: :?:

In all seriousness, just get whatever if it's for a rainy day. The best stuff out there is going to be harder to get in bulk. Get a lot of FMJ, and then maybe a contingent of JHP.
