Targets? Yep.
Rifle? Yep.
Ammo? Yep.
Magazine? Huh? What?

Last weekend we proved that fast food napkins and newspaper can make a perfectly usable single shot adapter for a .22 rifle.

I have done that more than once. I now keep 1 magazine of my most common calibers/firearms in my range bag at all times.

My dad and I had a similar experience about 40 years ago.
We went Javelina hunting and switched cars at the last minute.

I showed up today with everything but targets. I wanted to hang mini ipsc steel and work on my pistol draw/transitions with my new Fiber Optic sight but that didn't happen.

whats this about!? is my gun not the only one with a magazine safety? the internets suggest the mag safety on mine is uncool-what they actually said was stupid. maybe its just not operateyto have one? is it ok(legal) to mod that stuff to defeat it?

Once arrived in Des Moines with 4 guys and 1 shotgun to go pheasant hunting. Next flight airline got them there. Luckily my wife worked for the airlines at that time. Yes you can legally defeat your magazine safety. On guns like the Ruger Marks it improves the trigger to do so.

I am guessing with a semi-auto rifle one would close up the magwell to prevent gasses escaping when the bolt unlocks and travels back

No, it was a bolt action .22

The Argus Leader and Burger King napkins did a really good job as a single shot adaptor.

Why would this be a concern?

I once drove all the way to the range only to realize that I wasn't wearing any pants.
