Not across state lines. Do the transfer at an FFL.

Either way - ship to FFL in their state, or check with an FFL in MN to see if they can do it.

Ship to his FFL works best and since it is a long gun you can ship via USPS so it's cheaper than doing a handgun since no next day UPS etc BS is required.

Ship it to an FFL in SD, just as others have said. Don't let him tell you different, and don't agree to just do it under the table. You're nobody's friend when you sell a gun. You have to protect yourself first, and shipping to an FFL does that.
I mention this because when I have sold guns online, people across state lines often times don't know federal law, or they think that I'm gonna be their fishin' buddy and just hook them up with the gun like it's no big thing. I've been asked multiple times over the years to violate state and federal law by buyers. Once had a guy tell me what his state law was in Cali, and it didn't sound right. Turns out he was trying to sneak some banned stuff into the state. I called a reputable FFL in his jurisdiction prior to shipping to his own FFL and asked them what the regulations were, and that's how I found out that I almost went astray of Commiefornia law. South Dakota has pretty lax gun laws, but I would still make sure that you contact the FFL to ensure everything you're doing is legal. They may require additional information from you as the tranferor.
