"global warming" is so last decade. Don't you know it is "climate change" now??? :wack:

'Cause, you know, until the past few years, the climate hasn't changed at all, ever, in the history of the planet, right?

Bought the last 333 box of Winchester .22lr at Wally World yesterday afternoon after reading this blog. The salesperson was standing by the ammo display case. As she opened the case to get the last box, I asked her if .22lr's were in greater supply. She replied that this latest shipment lasted less than 1/2 an hour and that they keep a person near the case because they are called every few minutes to open it until all the .22lr's are gone. Seems like we're not out of the woods yet.

I happened to be in a Wally World last week, checking out the Leatherman tools. I lost mine to TSA the week before :( Luckily, it was only a gift tool from Cabela's. So, I sees dude from local gun shows, looking for .22 bullets. There is none. We chat. I start with, "so, still buying it up, eh?" Now he's nervous looking. Goes on to reveal it's sort of "an addiction" for him now. He and his buddy have a combined 500,000 rounds. They are some what unsettled with the fact that no one is buying from them, yet they continue to hoard, and actively search for it daily. I've seen their display at the gun shows. It's obvious they are part the problem. Piles and piles on their table. Nice display board proudly listing their gouger prices. Near double what they get it for. Usually only see one or two "holes" in the stacks of every manufacturer. I.E. not selling much. Then I noticed their ad on Armslist... "Lowball offers will be ignored". Sad. I've been on twenty four aircraft since July 16TH. And have paid visit to near as many gun stores, all over the country. A guy needs a fix when he's out of town, lol. Same story East to West, North to South. For kicks I check armslist while in them States, although you can do that from anywhere. Saw the new M&P 22 Compact at Barracks 616 in Grand Rapids, MI. They had a nice 6" Dan Wesson .22LR revolver. $550, but no ammo for it :( I also got to visit a Gamemasters store in Quincy, Ill. Wall long racks of hand guns and long guns. Seemed to have things you don't see in GM or The Big C. Anyways, different state, same .22 shortage. Carry on! :flag:

I've managed to score .22lr after 1pm 3 times in the last 3 weeks at Walmart; 1,875 rounds in total so now I have enough for 4-6 range trips. I'm even considering a new .22lr gun purchase which I have been putting off for over a year because I couldn't bring myself to buy a gun I couldn't get (retail) ammo for.

I went to the Lampi auction yesterday and the demand for 22LR is definitely far less than it was in the past. Average selling price (before fees) only about 8 cents a round which is much lower than the 15-20 cents a round it was going for a year ago or even the 12 cents a round it was going for just a few months ago.

I haven't been in a sporting goods store in the past 2 weeks that didn't have at least 2 brands of .22lr on the shelves. Cabellas, GM (both in rodgers), joe's and even dicks have all had plenty. I grabbed 500rds at gm rodgers because they had minimags, but had no problem leaving empty handed at the other places. There was even a guy on armslist today selling 1000 rds for $50, and it wasn't even thunderduds.

Bulk fed automatch and 50 and 100rd boxes of various cci types at Joes and GM, 50 rounders of fed and thunderduds at Dicks, and whitebox winchester in 333 and 225 (collector boxes) plus fed 50rd at Cabelas.

Thanks. So what does a 333 pack go for these days?

I didn't buy any of those but around $18 seems average. Thats what the 325rd auto match boxes were going for at least.

Was at the Lexington/Circle Pines Wally World today and it had about a dozen boxes of CCI .22lr in the case. $7.45 per box, maximum of three boxes.

Was it the CCI standard velocity in the 100-round black cardboard box? That was 1,000 rounds of my score in the last few weeks... I said we'll take 6 boxes (my GF and I), 3 boxes each per the limit... employee insisted that store was doing some sort of special where they raised the limit to 5 boxes for the black-box CCI (they did have several cases of it on hand) so we got 10 boxes... $79.84 after tax for 1,000 rounds... More than I would like to pay but it was available and it's 1K fewer rounds for the a-hole mentioned above to hoard... Come on dude, over $25K invested in .22lr... that's too much, just quit already...
