I can't narrow it to just six shotguns let alone six guns total. I'm with the above poster- move.

Interesting thought exercise. Since the lower of the AR is the 'gun' part, my first 2 selections are easy:

1. AR-15 that's first been built into a pistol
- Uppers ranging from 8"-20" depending on use, also a .22 conversion upper
2. LR308(.308 pattern AR) that's been first built into a pistol
- Uppers ranging from 8"-20" depending on use

The rest:
3. Widebody 1911 in .45
- conversions for .40 and 9mm, also a 6" longslide
4. Buckmark .22 - the only high quality production .22 pistol I know of that you can swap out the barrel
5. Semi Auto 12 gauge - Maybe a Benelli set up 3-gun style
6. Long Range Blot Action - .338 Lapua or .50 BMG

If I was locked into the above I would be reaching out to a custom builder like Salient and taking out a 2nd mortgage.

I'll play:

1. Ruger 10/22
2. Glock 19
3. Glock 34
4. BCM AR 16"
5. Savage .308 (at least the receiver is Savage)
6. Mossberg JM 930

This should cover fun, carry, varmints, 3 gun. Tough call on the G34 versus another rifle. So my DW's list will be:

1. S&W M&P .22 pistol
2. Savage MK II
3. S&W M&P compact 9
4. Browning A-bolt Micro hunter in .308
5. Beretta O&U 20 gauge (hopefully she will let me use it for pheasants)
6. Browning A-bolt 7 mag (hopefully she will let me use it for deer hunting)

I got it down to 7, subtract the M&P if this is more SHTF or subtract the 1911 *gasp* if this is for a regular life. If pressed I suppose I could combine the 338 & 308 into a 300 win mag savage bolt action and then I would add a 357mag revolver to the list. I assume we can have any ammo we want.

12ga Benelli m2 w/ multiple barrels for hunting, tactical, etc
5.56 AR SBR w/suppressor
Springfield Loaded 1911 in 45acp
338 Lapua bolt action w/suppressor & lightweight chassis
DPMS G2 Hunter
Ruger 10/22 rifle w/suppressor
40 cal M&P CORE 5” Long Slide PRO super edition w/ & w/o red dot for different type of gun games

I've actually sat down and chosen a few that I would never part with. If the room was on fire and I could only carry one armful of guns:

1) Winchester M12 - my wedding gift
2) A.H.Fox Sterlingworth - older restoration
3) Sig P6 - near mint late production
4) K31 - wartime tiger striped
5) Remington M33 - my first auction buy
6) Lightweight custom AR - my first build

I could be wrong, but judging by the responses....I think the thread's purpose was to choose 6 existing guns you already owned as opposed to a wishlist. If it was the later, mine would look very different and would surely include a mini-gun :o
