Does ammunition, assuming it's kept reasonably dry and cool, ever go bad?

Not sure, but a few years ago (OK, thirty), my dad and some of my uncles were using some Argentine surplus in their .308s, and I would guess one out of every ten would fail to go 'bang!'. Not a big issue if you were at the range, but mighty irritating when you have a 10-point buck in your scope.

I still find RA 42 45 ACP cases out at Oakdale, and as yet I haven't seen any duds mixed in with the empty brass, so ammunition is pretty much timeless, and those RA 42 rounds are in a HELL of a lot better shape than me or HammAR. (Or ttousi....)

But you probably wouldn't be using FMJ milsurp for hunting anyhow, right?
