In the late 70's I sold a Smith 28 and 29. No regrets on the 29 frankly. I regret the sale of the 28 but I found a displacement. Oh yeah I sold a .308 rifle. I don't even remember what brand and I don't regret that sale.

I sold a couple about 10 years ago when I first got my carry permit. I regret (a little) selling those because I got screwed on the price. Now I know better. I have some guns I rarely shoot but they aren't getting sold.

Haven't sold any...ever. That stainless Ruger Old Army black powder revolver I bought way back in 1973 for $79.99 hasn't seen the light of day since 1974, but I still won't sell it as it was a lot of fun shooting it back then. Now all I need to do is retire so I can have the free time to bring all those safe queens out in the light of day and shoot them again. BTW, Gunbrokers has Old Army's going for North of $500 now as they are no longer in production.

I've sold a ton and don't regret any. They're just guns. I've got some that I wouldn't want to sell, but if you bring enough cash over you can take any of them home with you.

In a far distant posting, I documented the sale of a firearm in one state and the re-purchase of the exact same firearm in a different state. Breakdown at point of purchase proved my previous ownership due to initial scribed inside stock.
This was a practice I used after having my entire "1976" Ruger collection stolen. The above situation was not one of those stolen.

Only one I sold was a Finnish M39 I never even shot. Post war stock and crummy trigger, so didn't lose any sleep.

But I've been thinking of selling a few I never shoot; an AR upper, a couple redundant 9mm pistols, a synthetic .22 rifle.

Based on discussion, it appears that the title, "We've All Done It" isn't quite factual.... :D

I have one just slightly. A Remington 870 Express 12ga.

You're probably thinking WTF would anyone regret selling an 870 Express, the most common shotgun in existence. Only because it was the first gun I ever bought with my own money. My dad actually had to buy it for me, since I was 14.

Yeah, first gun is a big deal. I sold off two 1911s, a Kimber Custom II and a $399 Filipino-made Charles Daly. The Daly's the one I miss, 'cause it was my first gun.

Well it wasn't my first gun. At the time I already had a .22 rifle, 12ga shotgun and a .243 that were gifts. This was just the first gun that I bought with my own hard earned cash.

My first gun (outside of air rifles) was a Marlin 39M lever .22, that will never be sold. It was a Christmas gift when I was 6 years old and as far as I'm concerned, my son already owns it. I've had it for 32 years now and it's still in absolutely pristine condition.

Sold a lot of guns in my youth, and later after my divorce. I've replaced most of them, but I still have regrets.

Regret for sentimental reasons:
S&W M645
Browning HiPower
Sig P220
Sig P230
Franchi SPAS-12
S&W M3914
Colt Detective Special

Worth a lot more today that what I bought/sold them for:
Colt Elite Team 10mm M1911
Stainless Colt Commander
Colt Python Hunter
Cobray MAC11 w/SCIONAC suppressor - sold because I moved to a town where NFA was illegal
Colt Officer's ACP
Fight-focused defensive handgun, rifle, and shotgun training

I had a really awesome JA-NINE that was gold plated and had a custom trigger job. I'd love to get it back but I've really leveraged myself in the stock market.

Have not sold any that I have kick myself on, but have passed on one that I have regretted. Many years ago a local small dealer had a mint S&W model 58 for what I thought was about $100 over what it should be. Within a year his price would be considered fair and today to find an equal, it would be several hundred dollars more.

Yes, that one I kick myself for passing on.

Looks like that's a true statement. :D

I guess the one I l really regret is the Citori Superlight as it was was a gift. Maybe I'm too sentimental, but I have adopted a new strategy...never part with gifts.

I haven't sold ANY of my guns but I can see where I MIGHT...if it was a current production gun that I wasn't all too thrilled about, I MIGHT sell it. But if it's out of production, has sentimental value, or somewhat rare...then no, it ain't getting sold. That said, I find that I'm not as attached to the polymer/plastic Tupperware guns as much as the nice shiny polished metal and wood ones. :D
