Much like how Yeager would say that the root word of 'gunfight' is not 'gun' it is 'fight', the key word of the phrase 'gun violence' is and should be 'violence'. To me if one were concerned with with stopping gun violence that person should be primarily concerned with what causes a person act violently against another, or in the most gripping of news, several other people. Gun control is nothing but a mere stop gap to remedy 'this situation', it has and will fail again to remedy violence in a society; ours or any other.
This coalition of lawmakers seems like a nebulous threat at best; how many 'coalitions' exist these days to push one agenda or another, or simply funnel money to such issues?
