With Magnum Research located here, why do we not see their products locally?

I see Desert Eagles and BFRs in most local gun stores and big box stores. What are you looking for that you are not seeing?

Mrs. LePetomane wants a Baby Eagle. She shot one at a range in Wyoming last week and has to have one.

If you get up to Brainerd, go the Mills Shooting Center. That's where I got mine. Not sure if all fleet farms have them, but it'd be worth checking locally.

If it makes any difference to you, MR is owned by Kahr now. You might try gun broker for a baby eagle. Don't think I've ever seen one, new or used, in a gun shop in the Cities. Or put a WTB ad on here...

I don't think MR actually imports very many baby eagles, and that it why you don't see many around. If they were prolific, you would see a lot more of them popping up at gun shows and on auction sites.

Take a look at the Canik pistols if she like the BE. The BE is a CZ lone made by IMI in Isreal, while the Canik is made by Sarmilaz in Turkey, and is also a CZ75 clone. Another one to look at would be some of the EAA Witness offerings, yet another CZ clone out of Tanfoglio in Italy. All the guns above have the same ergonomics, with minor differences in safety types/placement

As JJ mentions, not many Baby Eagles were imported, at least not under that name. It did not help that importation was halted for a few years either. The Baby Eagle was also known as the Jericho under the IMI name as well as those of similar design suggested by JJ.

They are a nice gun, a buddy had one for a while, he may still have it as we lost touch a couple years back I have seen them under that name at various Fleet Farms but have not looked lately. I think there was one at Gun Stop when I was last in there but that was shortly after Thanksgiving. The pawn shop in Richfield, MN on Lyndale Ave near 76 St also had one in the display case for quite a while, it might still be there.

Picked up mine at Arnzen about a year and a half ago. They had several then, but last time I was in there that spot was filled with CZs.

Pretty sure Little Crow in Hutchinson has stocked them in the past.

It will be interesting to see how long she stays happy. The Jerchio 941/Desert Baby Eagle is about the heaviest 9 mil you can buy. Built like a brick shytehouse, but heavy.

I think that's the appeal. Soaks up recoil.
