ATF Chief resigns

... less than two years after Senate confirmation
I honestly cannot say that I am disappointed, nor am I overly surprised.

Somebody's gotta take the fall. Lord knows its not going to be the person who actually gave the orders...

I wonder if perhaps he finally had enough of being Obummer's puppet and decided to bail. Maybe he actually has some self respect and dignity.

Hopefully you were being sarcastic, because if not, you must be living one heck of a blissful life.

No, he has no self respect. Yes, he's a traitor to his oath to uphold the constitution. I can say that with complete certainty, because had we not all stood up and had our voices heard, this proposed ban would've likely gone through in the past few days. Ultimately, he would've been responsible for the beginning of a most heinous march of back door gun control that we've seen in many years.

More info regarding his departure:

B. Todd Jones, formerly U.S. attorney for Minnesota, had a checkered two years with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives before resigning last week amid rumors he was taking a job with the NFL.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said today Jones would join the league as Special Counsel for Conduct.

Now I'm inclined to think the ammo issue was just a convenient excuse for him to step down and take a much more lucrative offer.

I'm usually glass half full non-tin hat kinda guy, but on this I think you have it backwards. A deal like that doesn't just happen. He knew he had other opportunities and therefore went to bat for the administration. The flip flop on the Sig Brace starts to make more sense - right around then is probably when he got the job offer. All of a sudden he doesn't have to care about keeping his job and can start making unpopular determinations.
