I just stopped at Gander because I was in woodbury and had some time to kill. the 23 was $699.00 +tax. :| Im not too bent on price but Joes in Roseville just had a 10 percent sale a couple weeks ago and I believe they were at 649.00 and with 10 percent off that would have been a great deal.

I'm curious: You stopped at Gouger Mountain in Woodbury, but didn't drive less than three miles away to go to Cabelas?? Why??

As far as picking a gun, go to one of the Bill's Gun Shops (Hudson, Robbinsdale, Circle Pines) and rent at least 3 or 4 guns and try them out. Yes, it will cost some money in addition to the price of the gun, but it's a pretty good bet that if you don't try first, you'll find something you like better in the first 6 months.

I was working at the time off 94 and Woodbury Drive. I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a co worker before I could head to my next location which was Bloomington and didnt want to sit in my car. Im going to Bills in cp with my neighbour when our schedules work. Hes bringing a couple guns and I will rent some too as everyone is suggesting. If it weren't for the members here I may have just bought something and im already glad im not going to do that.

Overall, do not stress too much and get into analysis paralysis - this is only your first handgun, there will be many more and there is no law you have to keep this one forever :)

"analysis paralysis" Sounds about right. I havent accounted for ammo cleaning supplies etc. but im comfortable pulling a thousand dollars out and just getting it done. I do own a small safe which is anchored to the concrete floor in the basement. Good to go have 3 dogs, two of which will bite and one who will hold on. Nobody in their right mind would even open the door hearing them.

I thought you were the one who made it.

It took you two days to come up with that?

I don't check forums hourly like you probably do. I just saw it for the first time. Sorry for the delay.

The dude in the video probably works there.

"I was like..."
"I was like..."

Not to mention the attitude and language.

He's right about GM though, and entertaining to watch speak. Apparently a display case is a "gun sanctuary" :)
