2009 IDPA Indoor National Championship

Postby westberg on Wed Dec 10, 2008 9:58 am

Any of you IDPA shooters going to the 2009 IDPA Indoor National Championship in Springfield, MA? It's at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center. I think it would be fun to attend.

No plans. I wouldn't be elligible anyway because I haven't shot a major sanctioned IDPA match in several years.
They do make it look fun on Shooting USA, though.

Besides, leave MN in February to go to Massachusetts? :freezin: I prefer to go somewhere warm if I leave this deepfreeze during the winter. :D

Can I ride along with you, Westberg? :)

I don't have a major match under my belt. Would state matches qualify? When and where is the soonest one being held?

Registration isn't open until December 20th. Mike and I are talking about it, but haven't decided yet, mainly because he should still be working in Florida. As Keith mentioned why go cold.......

Here is the link to IDPA and you can check the 09 state matches http://www.idpa.com. Yes state matches do qualify.

I'd be more interested in the West Texas Regional (same weekend) or the Florida State match (the next weekend).

I think that you should pay to send Mike all over the world shooting IDPA matches as he is the #1 gun on team Unholsterd. I would be willing to travel with as his chief mag loader and range bag carrier ;)

I have a friend who went last to S&W year and was a CSO there and at the last two nationals. What Keith said about it filling up super fast is really true. Once they let in all the pros and their CSO group, there is some chance. But is like the old way you had to join Elk River Sportmens, mail it in real quick, but not before they say you can, and be lucky.

You probably met Kitty at WI this past summer. She can give you the info on S&W match, Podergois has also been , I think but he had 30 yrs with S&W. They can also tell you the not easy trick of taking a handgun into MA.

Best future bet, work with Kurt and you and Dawn become CSOs. They want Dawn ( Kitty was one of only 2 or 3 female CSOs at Nationals) so you become the trailing spouse. Dawn then says yes, I'll come but let Ron/Mike come too.
