I'm saying MN is so overwhelmingly D(fl), between the metro socialists, and the iron range, that no matter what a few thousand gun enthusiasts do, we will be drowned by sheer numbers..and I mistyped the yearsin the previous post; I meant 2008, and 2012- when obama took MN. I doubt any serious gun owners were the least bit equivocal about who tho vote for, and it still made no difference in the national races.

Sorry, thought I added why they stayed home or voted 3rd party because McCain and Romney weren't conservative enough. I'm not saying it's easy but it can be done with enough effort. People saying there's no way they will vote for Trump doesn't help as it will assuredly give us something much worse.

Liberals are strange, and funny people. The 9th Circus Court rules that the 2nd amendment doesn't specifically delineate concealed carry, but they pull abortion out of the Due Process clause in the 14th amendment, even though abortion is not specifically mentioned.

One would gather from this ruling that open carry is now the law of the land.

That's a reasonable argument, but I will refute it with history:

1980, and 1984...Ronald Reagan could not carry MN. In 84, in part because Mondale was his opponent, MN was the only state in the country that didn't go to Reagan.

Personally, I won't be staying home, but unless Trump comes around and starts acting like a serious conservative candidate, I won't vote for him. At this point he's nothing but a spoiler for clinton . There's more to supporting someone than ' yeah, but he ain't her', and thus far Trump hasn't shown it. Besides, like most years past in MN the 'd' candidate has a wide margin on the 'r', so a few thousand 3rd party votes will not change the results, and who knows, it might make a difference down the road.

Face it now or after election. We are totally screwed. Trump seems to purposely trashing the republican establishment. With this ruling, and bitch clinton looks like a shoe in to put in supremes that will kill gun ownership, might as well prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

You probably know this, but the Supreme Court can't kill gun ownership. They can only uphold the laws that Congress or state legislatures make to kill gun ownership. I'm not terribly optimistic about the Presidential election, but we're not sunk yet. Don't give Hillary a cooperative Congress. Don't give Dayton a cooperative legislature. Don't vote for any Democrat, even if they are a "good guy". Your "good guy" D essentially turns into a vote for Pelosi for Speaker of the House and Schumer for Majority Leader. They will tell your "good guy" what legislation will be introduced and how they will vote as well as which SC nominees they will confirm.

If it wasn't for Justice Scalia to reaffirm the 2nd amendment that gave all citizens the right to bare arms, we would be seeing allot more regulations on fire arm ownership. But I still think the tax money on purchases of firearms is to large for the dems to just ban them. Think we will see (if the bitch gets in) most semiautomatic firearms discontinued provided she appoints a supreme that hates guns and congress shifts to democrat control. Will not be a fun 4 years if she wins. Am assuming with this ruling that more states will remove most PTC applications.

I think you've touched on an area where Trump's negatives are going to doubly screw us: if a lot of people stay home, that will mean a critical number of votes NOT being cast for conservative legislators.

Quite possibly. I think the Bernie believers are going to show up. They HATE trump and everything he stands for, so like I said, they will show up and vote D across the board. Some believe that a good chunk won't show up or if they do, they'll write in Bernie. I don't think that'll happen. Especially once Bernie is fully on board with Clinton and targeting his supporters at defeating Trump. The young people and the old are going to be out in force and they're going to vote D like we've never seen. But, I do agree there is a chance that disaffected and disengaged conservatives are going to stay home. And then the other R party candidates on the ballot are going to suffer as a result. And then she'll have the keys to the kingdom. Get ready folks.

I think in this thread or possibly another, someone raised the idea that Trump could very well be a plant to implode the R party. He's been in bed with the Clintons before. So that really wouldn't surprise me at all. Every move he makes and every thing he says only makes the R party look worse and the party is completely unraveling.

The Bernie supporters I know say they won't vote for Hillary. But when the time comes and the buses start taking people to vote they may end up voting for whomever the bus driver says.
