I admit to being surprised and pleased to see city and county parks routinely have nicely equipped pistol ranges. Just saw them from the road, but they looked well maintained.
I am really hoping AZ has less Ask Clowns than MN does. These are what Clint Smith calls folks who ask what to you think of XYZ pistol when they already own this POS that is entirely unsuitable for them and carry and also wonder why you are unimpressed with their $10 canvas one size fits all holster. They just want you to validate their often incorrect choice of carry weapon.
I had 16 years in MN and met a lot of great people. In 11 years of training over 1,600 with various partners and hosting national experts I learned a lot and tried to always offer a quality problem at a fair price.
I do look forward to having students who are there because the want to be since AZ has permit less or Constitutional carry. Still TBD is how many here will expect Defensive Pistol 1, 2 and 3 for $99 total and me to do the training in an afternoon. While many in MN were willing to pay $200 a day to train with Robert Vogel or Massad Ayoob others actually thought it was ridiculous to expect to pay that much for these nationally known experts.
I did sell my business to Brian Cooper of Eagle Mountain Trading Co http://www.eaglemtntc.com, a highly experienced NRA and USCCA Certified Instructor, gunsmith and competition shooter. He and my former business partner Jon Thompson of http://www.riverside sportinggear.com will continue most of what we did and add some additional classes.
So stay healthy and safe. While this is our new permanent home, we will escape the summer heat here by visiting MN and some national parks in the summer.
