Cheap, efficient means for a dedicated decapping only press or waste of time?

I'm moving to SS tumbling because shiny. Decapping one at a time on a single stage is dumb. My press (550) does not have a case feeder so I'm decapping elsewhere.

Waste of time. Just use your 550 and a universal decapping die.

Brass I need to trim I decap only first depending upon which trimmer I am using. Others I resize and decap at the same time then SS tumble.

I went to GunStop after work and bought another 550 toolhead and universal decapping die. I flew through 250 in a few minutes AND my primers weren't all over the floor like they were with the crappy Lee single stage.

Buy the case feed. Well worth the money. It gets used twice when doing it your way.

Pro 1000 is a pretty good boat anchor for canoes and kayaks.

I use a LEE Challenger Breechlock press for depriming most cases, BUT................

1. I drilled out ID of ram to a larger size.
2. I drilled/milled out side port in ram.
3. I use a dremel to rout out more material and polished the resulting surfaces.
4. I drilled out bottom of drain for primers removed so they would exit more easily.
5. I bent a piece of 3/4" conduit to fit over drain boss and direct to a 1-gallon plastic jug.
6. Left side metal piece was replace with a taller plastic piece to better catch old primers as they fall out of ram.
7. I replaced handle in press to a 4" long handle for quicker action and less travel of hand.
8. I sometimes put a collar around ram to limit travel down - my big hands sometimes makes this not so good.
9. a Universal Decapping die is standard equipment on this press.
10. I put a 1.5" conduit tube down to bucket to catch deprimed brass - economy of motion

Other do it differently if they have case feeders, I have one but used for other processes, mine is a vibratory bowl feeder.
