Here's mine, panning from left to right:

I also have these presses set up for portable work like decapping and sizing in front of the TV:

I can also swap out for my Lee Load-All as needed:

I have all of my presses mounted on 2 x 6 boards so I can mount them on just about any surface I can get a clamp on.

Dean do you think one of those portables could comfortably support a 550?

Justa,

they will support it, but the leverage that you use will cause it to rock a great deal unless you ballast down the table with shot bags or sand bags.

THey are plenty strong as far as weight support, they just dont have the stability unless you add to it.

I know that some have limits as to what they have for space, and a collapsible or movable might be a necessity for them. In this case it would be a super setup, mobile and a hideaway when needed.

But, if you can build in a permanent location, with 2 to 3 times the support/strength and material under the press or your bench than you think is needed, this is a good thing.

So another $25 or $50 of materials under your bench/press is like several $$$ in headaches, I cannot tell how much you will suffer if you build light.

I had my 550 set up similar to Dean so to speak, but with Black and Decker 425? weighed down with a couple of ammo cans full of stuff and it worked just fine. I had RCBS Jr press on the other end and sizing was no problem.

From the left,

processed brass waiting, a few guns that don't fit in the safe.

big storage cabinet, Almost all the powder, loaded rifle rounds and some pistol is stored in here, The rifles are the 99's and 36A's that don't fit in the safe. The upper cabinet has some more rifle brass, lots of shotshell empties, and the blue tubs hiding are more empties and wads. the silver case on the floor has the traveling pistols.

The dillon and the two Mecs, one 12 the other a 20. the smaller cabinets and the big one came from a customer who ordered them and used them at trade shows but never paid for them, So i took them back. the cabinet under the dillon has all the dies i use regularly in the bottom, and the tools and parts for the dillon in the drawer. The one with the ammo on top is full with assorted loaded rifle stuff in the drawer and the bottom door has large kegs of powder in it. The blue roadie box on the floor has the 1911's in it.

Close up of the Mec Bench, this was fast and easy to build, the boxes are from pistols in the safe, and the assorted primers, and lead cast bullets are just ballast.

A closer pic of the Dillon cabinet, these were made to be point of sale kiosks at trade shows, and to house a cash register, they work perfectly for this.

I do not have a digital camera, so I will say that below are pictures of the model from which I built my cabinet. The originator was at a different site, long ago, and far away, but I got the pictures and the plans............then built one for myself and added some improvements, like the bench is clear to work on guns, more lights, and has a small vise. Both the press and vise are mounted on I-beam inserts that can be locked into the bench or removed.....

What would make that perfect, Hammar, would be if you could close the doors and still work inside and hide from the wife and kids.
