Stockpile or as needed..

Postby phorvick on Wed Aug 22, 2007 5:33 pm

Given the recent and most likely long term ammo price increases, are you buying as needed, stockpiling, or a mix of both...not going nuts, but taking advantage of good deals?

I voted for "I reload". What that really means is "I don't shoot until I can afford my reloading supplies"

Stock pile....

But of course the day to day stuff is reload.

I reload .45 and .223. However supplies are getting more expencive. This is the only why I wish the war would end. You would be swimming in milsurp in 6 months.
I kill tincans, milk jugs, and fruit, with out giving it a second thought. This is also how I answer my posts.

i have been reloading for quite some time now. since buying my rra black rifle, i had to buy some 250 rounds of .223. since then, i've become a range rat looking for brass and trading what i don't use (.45) for stuff i do use (.40). i'm more afraid of what the prices are doing to components.

Was there an influx of milsurp 5.56 after Desert Storm but before the current war started? I wasn't in the market at the time so I don't know.

I took "stockpiling for the zombie invasion" to mean that one is currently stockpiling or purchasing for the purpose of stockpiling.

Since I already have a full stockpile, or ammo dump as applicable, I selected "mostly cutting back, but if there is a good deal" to mean that I am currently not purchasing for the purpose of stockpiling.

I managed to buy just a bunch of everything, about two years ago. When I look at ammo prices now, I just can't imagine shelling out that kind of cash to go to the range.

I've been picking up brass for calibers I don't own so I can use it for swap fodder.

Been thinking about getting into bullet casting because I have a large supply of lead.
