I still think it comes down to the trigger activator vs finger. If the finger is all that’s needed then I am a trigger activator and should be banned.

A ruling "in this state" would have to be about MN's existing trigger activator law. The federal cases over the bump stock ban are a whole different story.

No one has been arrested and charged with using a trigger activator in Minnesota, so let's keep that from happening.

Stopping a legislative bill to ban bump stocks will be handled through our regular process of stopping legislation. It starts with making sure folks are on our mailing list and getting our action alerts

Bryan

Not to mention he won't be making any shots of any distance without a rear sight.

Today we filed the Reply in the Bumpstock case regarding our Motion for Preliminary Injunction
2019-02-09
You can read the filing here. What we demonstrated is that the governments' position that a bumpstock is a machinegun is arbitrary, capricious and unsupported in the law. An analogy was made that if a bumpstock is a machinegun, then a manual transmission must be an automatic transmission using the same logic presented to us by the government defendants.

The Court (in DC) set this for a hearing on February 19, 2019 at 3PM.

I would hope we have a better argument than that.

Apparently the link the the response doesn’t show on mobile. Here’s what they submitted.

Bump stock inventor warns owners against waiving rights when they turn them in
William L. Akins, inventor of the Akins Accelerator, says those turning in bump stocks should be wary of any forms saying they’re relinquishing their rights to the property, and that they can ask for a property receipt signaling that while they have turned over the device, they still have an ownership stake in it.

Should the courts side with gun owners in their challenges to the new rules banning bump stocks, the device owners then have a chance to get their property back — or to at least be compensated.
