Reloading set up

I have a freezer in mine. It's good for one of the few foods that are safe to eat while reloading: popsicles; because they have a stick and you never touch the "food" with your bare hands.

I had a TV but the kids appropriated it.

You know I wasn't going to post a pic of my reloading area after seeing the rockstar setups some of you people have, makes mine look puny by example........ but then I remembered, a lot of you, for example 1911fan, have been reloading for like 83 years, and I've only been at it for one. With that in mind, I;\'m happy with my piddley little setup.

We all have to start some where. I have seen some neat set ups, one a guy I used to shoot high power with had an alcove above his detatched 4 stall garage. It looked like a kitchen almost...cupboards and a center island on one end, and the other end had a shop area with wood working equipment. Seperated by a wall..... with wide stair well .....
But, you have to realize that people who have been loading for while just accumulated stuff over time. I did a quick total of what my reloading stuff would cost to replace and I have over 4500 in hardware.

I like how some people use kitty litter tubbs, or Cobb's Cheese Ball jars for brass storage...Some people just use 50cal ammo cans!

Another HP shooter had long bench set with string of pressess meant for making mexican match ammo......one to seat the bullet deeper, one to pull the bullet, one with Uniflow powder measure, and one with a seater die....

Shotgun Shooters are the ones that take up space with wads, primers, powder, and shot! Gotta like the guys that cast bullets....some go so far as to install a ventilation hood...
smarter ones just cast out in the garage....

Here is what I have come up with in the short time I've been reloading. Which is two weeks. Those are custom made cardboard bullet and empty case holders. If you look closely you will see my custom labels, otherwise known as ammunition labels made out of cardboard remnants (which came leftover from making the custom cardboard bullet and empty case holders.) Otherwise the bench is 43'' H x 8' W x 24'' deep. Need a good tall stool, and some sort of shelving and container system for keeping things organized, but this is how I'm making do for now.







Definitely a work in progress, but it does what its designed for so far.

It looks very good, and it looks sturdy enough to stack it up with loaded and soon to be loaded ammo.

Quite nice, indeed. That has a lot of potential. I need to get my own reloading room before I go progressive.

You know I actually tried looking for stools online yesterday a little. Couldn't find much for 30'' + tall ones, under $50.
Looked for a little self-contained shelf and container system but those are a lot more expensive than I figured also.

The mini-fridge is in the garage at the moment, but not for long.

Definitely need some calendars and comical signage for moral support down there.

The bench does need some weight on it. That or I've got concrete bolts to attach it to the block wall. Its stable but if I put too much on it, it will wiggle just a little. Of course I have not yet braced the legs like they need to be, I just got excited to reload and put that off until later.

Thought you might be interested in a shelf setup for your bare block wall.

This the style of shelving that I use, very heavy duty and can be hung on a bare block wall.

I got mine at Menards years ago and you can find it rated from 300 pounds per mount to much more, I thought mine was rated at 500. May be kind of hard to see in the pictures of my reloading room, but they do hold quite a bit.

After 6-months in limbo - i just wrapped up molving all of my stuff and setting up a new shop in my new house. I dont have any pics yet - but there are some of you out there that were in my shop at one time or another - this time it is a little different. There are 3 benches set up and two courses of Gorilla racking to hold all of the supplies.

My brother came in from out of town to help me and we moved all of that stuff and all that he said was - Holy Crap you have a lot of stuff. So - the moralof the tory is - be careful what you accumulate - it can overwealm you if you ever have to move.

25x5gal buckets of brass - full were a little much and over 100 lbs of powder in various containers and 200-300 lbs of bullets were just a tad overboard and not to mention the 3 presses and 28 sets of dies and conversion kits.

If you want to upgrade from your cardboard you might want to take up eating cheese balls and drinking coffee they come with real nice containers The cheese ball containers look real nice as they're clear so you can see the contents, My coffee cans are upgradeable with custom labels useing 2" paper tape and a magic marker

A low mounted shelf under the bench stacked with heavy stuff lowering the center of gravity helps with bench stability.
You have a really nice start there, And with room to expand as most are a work in progress as you think of new ideas
