Anybody using a brass catcher or does everyone just pick up what you can find on the floor/ground? When I'm at bills I try to pick up my brass but it's not easy as they fly all around and get mixed up with whatever else is on the floor. Been thinking about getting one of those brass catchers that you wear on your wrist but seeing as how I've never seen anyone actually wear one of these, the dorkness factor has got me concerned. Sure would be nice to leave the range with everything but the lead I came with though.

Amen to that.

I cannot remember the last time that I actually bought loaded ammunition.

I shoot a lot of foreign calibers, so of course it's best to stockpile. That, and I live next to the cemetery, and must be prepared for the zombies. But most of the day-to-day, I reload. .30 Tokarev is one of the most challenging calibers there is to reload, so it becomes a hobby in itself.

I need to start reloading... but in the mean time, I am in the stock pile mode.

I have 12 gauge coming out my ears! Those grouse and pheasants better watch out! 8-)

I try to buy twice what I shoot, so the pile keeps growing. When there are local good deals on ammo, I buy what I can afford. Lately I've been stockpiling the 9mm that comes on sale at Dicks for $148.88/case out the door.

This weekend I burned through about 300 rounds of 9, and 400 rounds of .38 special. My stockpile of .38 special dropped to DANGEROUSLY low levels of 450 rounds, so I ordered another case today. I try not to drop below 2K of my common calibers and 1K of my less common calibers.

9 and 223 is what I shoot most, I try to buy that anytime I see a good deal on it.

The way I figure it, there's no way that the prices of ammo are dropping anytime soon, so the money I spend today is money saved tomorrow.
