Riddle of the day..maybe

Postby SheepDog on Tue Jan 13, 2009 2:14 pm

Hello to all..I'm new to the talk. Just recently retired from the Navy..Anyways the riddle..
I have an old 22 pump, with a winchester 02 barrel. The only markings on the receiver is the no.# 087.
What is it. The pics were to big to post email me at smartsecurellc@yahoo.com and I'll send them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You.
And yes we shoot firearms in the Navy..

I am pretty sure this is a "Stevens Visable Loader" came out in the 1920's they did not put model numbers on guns then like now, they all had names....GunsAmerica has one for sale if you want to see a picture of a complete rifle.

Gunnerbmg hit the nail on the head. It's a Stevens Visible Loader, with a Winchester 02 barrel.
Thank You Gunnerbmg. I owe you the beverage of your choice. I would have never figured this riddle out.
Thanks to all that replied..And the warm reception.
