Anderson Manufacturing AM15

Postby PHATSPEED7x on Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:03 pm

I usually roll my own AR-15 rifles. But I saw this budget AR-15 on the rack at my dealer. Base optics ready model. 1/8 twist 16" barrel. No fancy treatments bells or whistles. Keeping with the cheap theme I went to Walmart and topped it with a Simmons Pro Target 3-9x40 scope with a set of weaver rings.

I got less than $500 into the whole setup.

So cheaper than a case of 5.56 these days? Nice.

Seems like AR prices are returning to 2019 levels?

Surprised how many AR-15 are actually still on the shelves. People must not want guns there isn't ammo for maybe?

I get email alerts for numerous firearms for sale. But firearms are worthless without ammo to shoot.

Im gonna have to agree. A gun deal now might only come around once a year aka black Friday deals.

I believe the reason your seeing AR15 around at all is that a mandatory buy back program wouldn’t even come close to the price you just paid for the firearm. Lose, lose.

From what I hear at work, some of it is the inability of new owners to get in and register for permits to purchase.

Lots of new owners wanted them “now” and with COVID, LE agencies were not eager to deal with permitting.

Ammo availability is hurting turning new owners into shooters.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can buy a lower receiver w/o a PTP/PTC. The PTC/PTP only comes into play when you buy the complete rifle.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Need a permit to purchase or carry for just a lower. Seen people denied sale because of this.

Nope. That serial number on the lower requires FFL to fill out the paperwork just like buying a weapon, plus PTP/PTC.

An 80% lower doesn’t require the paperwork.

A finished lower does.

At least that is my experience.

Wait. I thought if you bought it online or at a gun show you don’t need anything and can buy automatic assault weapons in tactical colors with shoulder thingies that flip up and ultra high capacity clips of over 10 rounds that carry ammo engineered to be more deadlier than hunting ammo.

If you buy online the rifle is just transported right into your house, like on Star Trek. It's so easy. Plus, it comes with a free militia too.
