Intro Post

Postby DonMn on Mon Jan 19, 2009 7:05 pm

I was helping a guy build an AKM last weekend and he told me about this site. I'm mainly into plinking shooting, archery, shooting clays; but not too much of a hunter. I'm also an amateur gun builder, I've built a few for myself and helped a bunch more people do some builds. I'm also going through the process of getting an 07FFL to get into doing parkerzing, hot-blueing and doing duracoat type paint jobs. I'm a bodyman/painter by trade or at least was till last week, but just got laid off. I'm also a member @ AR15.com, theAKforum.com, 1919a4.com with the same handle.

Welcome to the board. Also sorry to hear about you getting laid off, the current job market sucks sad to say. Good luck to you in finding a new one though!

Ah, no worries about being laid off. No wife and kids to feed, I'm going to take a well earned vaction for about a month or so. Tell you the truh, I was smiling ear to ear when I got laid off. I was getting pretty burnt out, twenty plus years painting. I'm doing a bunch of work to my house and now I got some time to finish it. Yeah, I'm also a little bit of an artist; I made a living doing airbrushing, handlettering and pinstriping for a number of years.

I'll have to do another post and find out how many amatuer builders are in the area.

While these "Hi, I'm new here" posts generally annoy me, yours doesn't seem to have that effect. I think you're alright, Don. Welcome to our humble board. Don't mind the sh*tstains on the walls.

Could it be because this one hasn't degenerated into dozens of posts about staying away from certain members, aspersions being cast upon other members' manhood, ad infinitum?

:D

Welcome, Don. Nice to meet you.
