To be quite honest, I am insulted at the cheap shots and alleged safety abuses brought up on this thread, which is what stemmed the "cheap shot flurry" to begin with, resulting in my getting a "board issued warning". For those of you who insist on joking about the safety practices of those of us on that trip, don't worry, you never have to join us on an outing. For those of you who continue to bash those of us on this outing for alleged safety violations, please stop. If you had joined us, you would be singing a different tune.

For those of you who are "kidding" It's no longer funny, because people are taking you seriously, and it makes vlad, EJS, Mac and myself look very, very bad for no reason.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

Whatever. Don't worry about it fellas, I'm outta here for a while. I can tell when I have over stayed my welcome, and this baiting me into getting banned is getting old. You don't have to worry about it anymore.

I suspect that I am one of the few that did view the 4th photograph in the original post, that did in fact, clearly depict a blatant violation of firearm safety and the absence of basic common sense. The actions of one individual opened the door for some serious criticism from those that do not condone such dangerous and irresponsible behavior. With that said, before you claim innocence and foul play; repost the original photo and take what you get like a man.

Hard to be unsafe when all 4 of the people on the range were in the picture and the camera was on a timer. This has been covered.

This thread is the public version designed not to bury itself in needless infighting for the anti-gunners to enjoy.

You don't know any of us, nor were you there, so it's a little brash to pass such sweeping judgment based on a single photo.

Do you ever uncase or unholster firearms in your house? I'm sure you do. While in this condition, do they always remain pointed in a safe direction such as a five-gallon bucket of sand or a full bookcase (the long way)? I doubt it.

You can think whatever you want, but there was nothing BLATANTLY UNSAFE, DANGEROUS, or IRRESPONSIBLE about that photo.

1. Gun was triple-checked and found unloaded.
2. Bolt was locked back.
3. Manual safety engaged.
4. Finger off trigger.
5. Nobody behind camera.

I have no desire to enter the fray, but I have to say that that's the coolest picture I've ever seen.

macphisto:
Are you suggesting that if I knew you I would be comfortable with you posting a photograph of yourself aiming an “evil black gun” at the camera; the perception being that you are pointing a gun at the viewer(s)? No, I don’t know you, but I do know a blatant firearm safety infraction when I see one. This is a serious issue! Whether the threat is real or perceived, the photo was massed with poor judgment and bad taste. This is exactly the type of activity that I will voice an objection to. Photographs like the one posted and hence removed (why?) pose a threat to our rights to bear arms; not me complaining about them. I would ask that you recognize that I am not waging an attack against you-I don’t know you, but your actions.

You didn't answer my questions and it's clear you're attacking me in your first post on the matter.

Saying a photo like that jeopardizes our rights is just silly. Have you seen some of the crap that's out there on YouTube, blogs, and other gun boards? I'm not claiming to be "professional enough" to violate the rules, but I don't need a bunch of credentials in my signature line to know what is safe and what is not.
