Yes, but a judge also said Trump is a rapist. Good enough for me.

But Judge Lewis Kaplan called Trump’s semantic argument “entirely unpersuasive.” He clarified that the jury found that the former president did indeed “rape” Carroll based on the common definition of the word.

So Biden is the better choice? Or maybe the Clintons are your ideal?

Then that judge should be impeached and removed.

A civil jury cannot find a criminal charge. All that jury said was that in their opinion, with a simple preponderance of evidence, it was more likely than not that Trump damaged Carroll.

In order for Trump to be adjudicated a rapist, they have to have a unanimous jury agreement that Trump did rape her as defined by law beyond a reasonable doubt.

Civil juries are convincing over half the jurors that more likely than not the defendant is liable for damages.

“Trump is a rapist” is an opinion, no more.

I’d agree Trump is a badly behaved boor. I’d also agree that Jimmy Carter is a great human being.

Neither have much to do with how well they can run the country.

The Democrats chose someone who the majority strongly felt would not run the country as well as the “rapist” (in your opinion).

That says something about how awful Kamala Harris is seen by the average American. Ditto Hillary Clinton.

If Trump is a badly behaved boor, but it has little to do with how well he can run the country, then why can't a judge call someone a rapist and still serve the bench honorably?

If Trump does not agree, let him bring suit against the judge or take other steps. But the same person who could not be bothered to put Clinton in prison after promising to do so, will take no action against any judge that calls him a rapist.

ABC News, George Stephanopoulos agree to pay $15 million to settle Trump’s defamation lawsuit - AlphaNews

ABC News and its anchor George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement with President-elect Donald Trump in a defamation lawsuit, agreeing to pay a $15 million charitable contribution, $1 million to cover Trump’s attorney fees, and issue an apology.

A joint notice, filed on Dec. 14, indicates that the parties have both entered into a written settlement agreement, resolving the legal dispute that began when Trump sued ABC News and Stephanopoulos in the Southern District of Florida, alleging defamation after Stephanopoulos claimed on air that Trump was “found liable for rape” by a federal jury.....

...The case stems from Trump’s allegations that Stephanopoulos defamed him when stating during an interview with Mace that a jury found Trump liable for rape. The ABC interview followed two civil lawsuits in New York filed by author E. Jean Carroll, who in 2019 accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in the 1990s. While the jury rejected her claim of rape, it held Trump liable for sexual abuse. Trump has consistently denied the allegations.

About a week after the March 10 interview, Trump filed a defamation lawsuit against Stephanopoulos in the Southern District of Florida. His March 18 complaint highlighted that the jury’s verdict form stated Carroll had not proven by a preponderance of the evidence that Trump raped her.....

Apparently ranb isn't the only party who doesn't acknowledge the difference between a civil, and criminal issue.

The issue isn’t that folks aren’t going to acknowledge that Trump has warts or is boorish.

It’s that they thought Biden, and then his selected surrogate Harris were worse.

Your point that Trump has flaws is accurate and I think most here would acknowledge that.

The problem is your posting gives the impression that you think everyone should vote for Harris because “she hasn’t done anything against the second amendment.”

Playing subtle semantic games and then objecting when the basic thrust of your argument is pointed out and disagreed with is not a polite debate tactic.

I’ve said lots negative about Trump, but I always preface it with the oppositions goals as stated are against my principles.

This last election where Trump won by a substantial margin showed that most are not happy with the democrats and their policies. That Trump won despite his issues should be a big warning to the democrats that they are not in step with the populace (just like Biden’s win should show the GOP that a lot of Trump’s support is not very deep and they need to not double down on things like abortion or big spending…)

 I bet Little Georgie is fuming. He just up and deleted his X account.

Hiring Little Georgie as a talking head was the start of the networks death spiral. I wish bankruptcy on all of them.

Of course I can acknowledge the difference. Where are you getting that from?
